What really happened to U2 pilot Gary Powers?

Ths Times has a fascinating article that explores various theories as to what happened 50 years ago today over Russia. Have a read, it's well worth it.

This I posted to the times Online who may or may not run it: "Jeez, folks!!!! Wake the f_k up. At least am glad to see some of this out there now, though already long-disclosed (confirmed) 20+ years now by a former AF Press Liaison Officer...WHY do you think Ike so "surprisingly" warned us about the "Military-Industrial Complex" when he left office??? Well, consider this: Powers, the oh-so secret covert spy... had ***3 FULL SETS OF I.D.'s on him.**** Trained and *programmed* to use that needle, he did not. Also, from the get-go, anyone seeing the first! news photos of that U2 can deduce it was never damaged except by a minor dent on landing. It was a set-up as Khrushchev even said to Ike, who was NOT in on it at all! And said that if Ike would confront his (those associated with this scam) cabinet members, he'd still have the Summit. Ike did not dare, then... It was a staged event as those in the know, uhmmm, know... to ruin the Summit Conference. Think of the Daddy Warbucks wet-dreams during and since as those $300 screwdrivers and trillion dollar projects (one tiny shortening of one's funds got JFK offed) and yadda yadda yadda notwithstanding the near total destruction of the earth a number of times due to accidents, mis-reads of radar and just plain internalized duck-and-cover-itis loss of human comfort and trust (oh they play on that) and the resources of nations and peoples being mis-used, to end up in some few proudly sociopathic folks' hungry ghost-mouth secret heapings and oh-so decadent depravities. And, by the way, shame on you lackey disinforming Pentagon hacks commenting yet to do a modified limited hangout or whatever level of b.s. you're pushing. Seems few care anyway, get back to your WMD game... not that different but despite the losses on such a smaller scale of time and money." hmmmm will YOU post it ;) Cheers. Ben Daredundat
