Who should I vote for?

All the talk and speculation about the general election will be worthless in a few hours, so I offer a service to those who are still unsure who to vote for. The committed Conservative, tribally Labour or weirdly loyal LibDem supporters will know who to vote for as will the supporters of minority or regional parties; I am talking to the still unsure.

Now the don't knows are not one type so here goes with my tailored advice:

1. Your family always voted Labour, you historically voted Labour, so ordinarily you would vote Labour, BUT you hate what has happened to this country over the lat 13 years and you find Gordon Brown weird, Ed Balls repellent and Harriet Harman too condescending for words - You can choose, vote Labour and get more of the same or (as you won't vote for another party) don't vote; sit on your vote and enjoy watching Gordon Brown and the rest of the gang lose power over you.

2. You are a Conservative but you are anti-EU and don't trust David Cameron on the EU, heck he brought Ken Clarke back, so you are thinking of voting UKIP just as you did in the local and EU elections, so David Cameron knows he cannot take your vote for granted - I know how you feel but unfortunately UKIP are not going to form the next UK government and if 5% of voters vote UKIP it could mean Labour getting back into power, possibly assisted by the pro-EU LibDems. I am afraid you need to hold your nose, vote Conservative and then work to keep the pressure up on the Conservative party on matters EU.

3. You are in a Labour/Conservative marginal, support neither party (more of a LibDem supporter) but want to vote and not waste it. All I have to say to you is do you really want 5 more years of Prime Minister Gordon Brown or even worse three years of Prime Minister Brown and then Ed Balls as unelected Prime Minister? Vote Conservative to rid this country of Labour, watch Labour implode and hope that the LibDems replace Labour as the second party of British politics.

4. You are in a Labour/LibDem marginal, support neither party (more of a Conservative supporter) but want to vote and not waste it. All I have to say to you is do you really want 5 more years of Prime Minister Gordon Brown or even worse three years of Prime Minister Brown and then Ed Balls as unelected Prime Minister? Vote LibDem and watch Labour implode and hope that the LibDems replace Labour as the second party of British politics, but that the Conservatives win a few more elections first.

There you go tailored advice from NotaSheep.

More generally vote anything but Labour, as the first priority is to rid this country of Gordon Brown, Peter Mandelson, Ed Balls, Harriet Harman, Jack Straw et al. But before you vote for any party other than the Conservatives, remember that any result other than a Conservative majority government risks a Labour Prime Minister and it is likely to be one of those I mentioned above or possibly worse a smug David Miliband or an even smugger Ed Miliband. You owe it to yourself, you owe it to your country; whether enthusiastically or reluctantly - vote Conservative.
