Was Gordon Brown actually insulting Peter Mandelson

An interesting article at K'alebul explaining that when Gordon Brown said that 'Peter (Mandelson) has been a rock on which the stability .. of the Labour Party has been built for so many years …' it may not have been such a compliment.
'Jesus of course also refers to Peter as “O thou of little faith”, says to him “Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men”, and predicts that Peter will deny him thrice.

Brown knows his Bible, so I think we can count this as a late consolation goal.'
