The one hundred and twenty fifth weekly "No shit, Sherlock" award

This week's award is presented to politics professor and 'election expert' John Curtice as reported by the BBC for the insight that:
'An election expert says the pressures on those counting election votes could spell an end to the overnight count in future elections.'
I wonder if the introduction of AV would increase the pressures, complexity and delays?

So John Curtice - "No shit, Sherlock"

It undoubtedly would. It would also give an outgoing government more time to lay traps for the incoming one if they thought that there would be no possibility of their party forming the next government.

I actually doubt if a Conservative government would do such a thing if it damaged the country's interest, but Labour has already proved its willingness do do just that.

"....because of a deal signed by former chancellor Alistair Darling after Labour lost last May's election but before the Tory-Lib Dem coalition was formed, Britain will have to help in a bail-out."
