ACORN to take strong action

Further to my recent postings about the video evidence of the various misdeeds of sundry ACORN officials I was pleased to learn that ACORN would be taking legal action. I was less pleased when I read that:

"Former employees of the beleaguered community activist group ACORN are planning to file a criminal complaint in Baltimore against the creators of the series of videos that have spurred outrage against the organization, knowledgable sources have told Investigative Voice.

The filing could come as soon as Friday afternoon, sources said.

The criminal complaint will allege that recordings of the group’s employees giving advice on how to evade taxes and house underage South American sex workers to journalists posing as a pimp and prostitute were obtained illegally.

The criminal complaint is expected to name both James O’Keefe, 25, and Hannah Giles, 20, along with the owner of the website Breitbart, which initially released the videos.

ACORN is also contemplating a civil suit seeking an injunction aginst O’Keefe and Giles to prevent them from distributing the videos, according to an an email."

That sounds about right for a group like ACORN.

Barack Obama's campaign supporters just get nicer and nicer. Here is the latest news from Indiana where:

"Secretary of State Todd Rokita said Monday that his office has found evidence of “multiple criminal violations, including possible state and federal racketeering laws” in connection with fraudulent voter registration applications filed in Lake County.

Rokita said many registration applications filed by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, had incomplete information or indications of fraud or forgery."

Isn't it odd how the US MSM and the BBC are trying to ignore the ACORN story, it is almost as though they want Barack Obama elected regardless of what methods are used.

Some people wanted Barack Obama to win so much that they voted for him more than once, see this National Review article:

"“GOP observers are calling in reports of multiple voting. People brazenly are coming in two or three times to vote,” he said, the exhaustion clear in his voice. “We may have an observer in one of every five or six precinct buildings, and they can see only so much. People are coming in where there are multiple registrations for the same address. Someone might say, ‘I’m Troy Jones at 123 Main Street,’ and then he’ll vote. Next, he will come back and say, ‘I’m Troy Jones, Jr. at 123 Main Street,’ then cast another ballot. Later on, a Troy Jones, Sr. registered at the same address gets to vote. This is why ACORN’s multiple registrations are such a problem.”"

In 2000 the Democrats forced recount after recount, why do I think that any such attempts in 2008 by the Republican party will be seen as racist. Already I have heard people stating that the Republicans should be magnanimous in defeat, I am sure that was not what was said in 2000. The vote rigging in this election has, I am sure, been widespread and controlled by ACORN etc. Emboldened by their success in 2008, just wait and see what the Democrats will try in 2012. Also look out for the Labour party in the UK trying as many of these tricks as they can in 2009/10.

Remember 2004

The BBC are back on the 'nasty Republicans stealing the election' meme, just as they were in 2004. Before you believe the crap they are serving up in attempt to divert attention from the real scandal that is ACORN, take a look at the letter they had to publish back in 2004 after they made similar claims:

In an effort to make sure that the public has the facts regarding a recent story by Greg Palast for Newsnight, I respectfully request that the following information be shared with your viewers and posted on-line where the story was published.

It was evident that the reporter did not have a strong background in the political process and had not done much research beyond talking to an opinionated Democrat who is the Supervisor of Elections in Tallahassee, which is not even the area referenced by the list in the story.

First, caging is a commonly used term in the political process by which someone opens a large amount of mail and logs it into a database.

This is routinely done when an organization receives a great deal of mail from a fundraising appeal or returned mail from a mailing to a large number of people. The reporter was not familiar with this term or this process and did not seem to understand it even after it was explained to him.

Second, the list was a listing of returned mail that came from a mailing that the Republican National Committee sent to new registrants in Duval County in Florida, encouraging newly registered Republicans, Democrats and Independents to vote Republican.

Voter registration has been a heavy concentration of both parties this year and both national and state Republican parties have been reaching out to new registrants for the upcoming election.

The Duval County list was created to collect the returned mail information from the Republican National Committee mailing and was intended and has been used for no purpose other than that.

Palast's insinuation that it was created for and will be used for the purposes of an Election Day challenge is erroneous and frankly illustrates his willingness to twist information to suit his and others' political agenda. Reporting of these types of baseless allegations by the news media comes directly from the Democrats election playbook.

If the reporter had asked the Elections Supervisor in Duval County, the area in question, he would have learned that this area has been affected by massive fraud efforts this year as a result of the work of ACORN, a third party organization supporting the Kerry campaign and the Democrats.

He would have learned that many people who were registered this year in Duval County in fact do not have valid addresses. It seems his goal was not to obtain accurate information, but to help the Democrats launch a political attack.

In a year when reporters are under heavy scrutiny for showing political leanings toward the Democratic Party, I would think that your new organization would take greater care to understand the facts and use sources that will yield objective information, rather than carry one party's political agenda.

Please post this letter on your website and in any other place that the above-mentioned story appears. It is your responsibility to make sure that the facts are relayed to your viewers and readers.

So much that I have read about ACORN over the past few years has pointed to illegalities around voting and campaign funding but the words of Tresa Kaelke astound me. Oddly this story seems to have received little or no publicity, I wonder why.

BBC Radio 4 news at 07:30 reported on Barack Obama's speech at the memorial service for the victims of the recent shootings in Arizona. The report was brief but part did make my ears prick up (I paraphrase as closely to the words as I can remember):

'President Obama said that the had visited Congresswoman Gifford and that she had just opened her eyes for the first time'

Yes, the Obamamessiah is back and now he can heal the sick!

Meanwhile the BBC's North America editor, Mark Mardell has written another 'feel the love' piece about Barack Obama. Read the whole piece but here are a couple of highlights:

'It wasn't the usual sort of memorial service. It wasn't, for a start, very solemn. Music of all sorts, from choral to soul, built up towards the speeches. It followed pretty much the pattern of every other Obama rally I have been to.'

This was meant to be a service to commemorate the six people killed but Mark Mardell is happy that Barack Obama turns it into a rally?

'The audience whooped and hollered during the speech. But there was no doubt they were local people, and I presume this was a sort of cathartic release after days of horrible tension. The biggest cheer was when the president revealed that Gabby Giffords had opened her eyes.'

Why is there no doubt that they were local people? Is cheering at a memorial service acceptable? How about at a political rally? And there is the Obamamessiah reference, albeit watered down a bit in print.

'The US TV networks call this part of the president's job - a sort of "healer-in-chief". But here Mr Obama attempted to go well beyond binding the wounds, to deal with what he sees as a more profound sickness.

It was a subtly political speech, defying the expectation of those who those who thought he would remain aloof from the debate about the sometimes febrile and vitriolic nature of American politics.

When he said that this tragedy must not be an excuse for Americans to turn on one another for more point scoring and pettiness, Mr Obama appeared to rise above party and castigate both Republicans and Democrats.

But it is the right that has been revitalised by the Tea Party movement and its sometimes harsh language.'

So whilst Mark Mardell thinks that Barack Obama rose above party politics, something that I do not see, Mark Mardell sees no reason to do so; just look at the stark contrast in those last three lines again:

'Mr Obama appeared to rise above party and castigate both Republicans and Democrats.

But it is the right that has been revitalised by the Tea Party movement and its sometimes harsh language.'

The right has indeed been revitalised by the Tea Party movement and as a result made huge advances in Congress. As a result of this Barack Obama is having to appeal for bi-partisanship in politics, something that he was not interested in when the Democrats controlled Congress. Mark Mardell seems happy to ascribe 'harsh language' to the right, has he really never heard the language emanating from the left during the George W. Bush presidency and since?


A few days ago I blogged about 'hate' in US politics and included (point 5) this:

'Here's recent Democrat pollster and strategist Mark Penn in November 2010 saying that Barack Obama needs another Oklahoma City bombing to 'click' with the country as though that positive result would be worth the deaths...'

It looks as though the wishes of some on the left for deaths that Barack Obama could use to boost his popularity have come true, are they really happier now?

Mark Mardell seems to have missed the harsh language used by Barack Obama in recent years, let me help him out... As reported by The American Patriots Commission:

** Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
** Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
** Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
** Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“
** Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
** Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”
** Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”
** Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”

Mark Mardell also seems to have forgotten the hatred expressed by so many of the left in recent years as they wished Dick Cheney would have more heart attacks, and some expressed the desire that Karl Rove be shot.

Mark Mardell once again shows why he is not an unbiased commenter on American politics  but a partisan supporter of Barack Obama. And the BBC show that they are institutionally biased in favour of the US Democratic party.

Why Barack Obama is taking control of the US Census

The director of next year's US Census will report directly to the White House rather than to the Commerce secretary, as was formerly the case. Now why would Barack Obama want to make such a change? Do I hear ACORN?

Meanwhile Iowahawk explains it thus (my emphasis): "Waving invisible banners proclaiming "Census Rights Now," an enormous throng of Imaginary-Americans rallied at the National Mall today to support the Obama Administration's planned takeover of the U.S. Census Bureau.

"I want to thank everyone in the Imaginary community for turning out for this great cause," said President Obama, speaking on the steps of the Lincoln Monument to a reportedly cheering crowd estimated at between 0 and 12 million. "For too long, the Census Bureau has discriminated against people on the basis of their existential status, or perceived lack of appearance. That must stop. I promise you that under my administration, Imaginary-Americans everywhere will enjoy the same rights that they do in my home town of Chicago."

ABC News analyst Jake Tapper said the rally underscored the growing national political clout of Imaginary-Americans.

"It used to be that Non-Existentials were mostly confined to a few wards in Chicago, Philadelphia and Detroit, but we're seeing them more and more in opinion polls and elections around the country," said Tapper. "With dozens of congressional seats and billions of dollars in federal grants hanging in the balance, the President wants to make sure Imaginary citizens don't get undercounted in the 2010 Census."

"It's just smart politics," added Tapper. "According to the exit polls, President Obama carried the Imaginary vote 346% to √-12%.""

Barack Obama - The truth

Read this article by former Obama supporter Edward Heathcoat-Amory and maybe you will understand why so many people including myself have a very nasty feeling about Barack Obama. Here are a few extracts to give you a flavour:

1. "First, let's examine how Obama took his first significant step on to the political scene when be became a state senator for Illinois in January 1996.

It was a rather remarkable contest, in that Obama was elected unopposed. And the reason for that was that he had found a way to have all the other candidates removed from the ballot, including the incumbent.

If you want to run for a U.S. state senate seat, you need the backing - ie, the signatures - of a minimum of 757 ordinary electors within your district.

Obama employed a special consultant, Ronald Davis, to look at each of the 1,600 signatures that the sitting senator, Alice Palmer, a member of his own party, had gathered. And Mr Davis found problems with so many that Palmer was dropped from the ballot, and for good measure he managed to have the other three candidates ditched as well.

According to a local newspaper, problems included 'printing registered voters name [sic] instead of writing, a female voter got married after she registered to vote and signed her maiden name'.

It was a legal electoral tactic, but a little odd from the man who had run 'Project Vote' - a campaign to persuade the disenfranchised to vote for the first time. Yet here was Obama disenfranchising those same voters in another way, using the toughest of political tactics to deny them a choice at the election.

Asked about it later, he said: 'If you can win, you should win, and get to work doing the people's business.'"



2. "in 2007, Senator Obama 'earmarked' $1 million for the University of Chicago medical centre. The vice-president of the centre is his own wife, Michelle Obama.

Indeed, she had received a pay rise of $200,000 (£115,500) at the very same time that Obama first became a senator - and thus able to organise earmarks. Coincidence? Or something more sinister? Obama insists the former, but it certainly doesn't look good."


3. "Finally, Freddoso looks at Obama's relationships with a series of property developers, including Tony Rezko, who recently went to jail for fraud.

When Obama bought his house in 2005 for $300,000 (£173,000) less than the market value, Rezko bought the plot next door. When challenged about their connections, Obama claimed: 'I've never done any favours for him.'

Not quite true, apparently. The two were friends and Obama wrote a series of letters supporting Rezko's successful attempts to get state subsidy to build affordable housing in Chicago.

Unfortunately, Rezko's 30 buildings have subsequently run into financial difficulties, which is a bit tough for their tenants as living conditions have deteriorated. Rezko even turned off the heating in the middle of winter to save money.

Not a nice man, then. But a generous supporter of Obama, collecting and donating $250,000 (£144,000) to his political patron over the years."

Do read the rest of the article to learn more about the vile Rev. Jeremiah Wright and the scarcely more pleasant John and Todd Stroger and Richard Daley as well as the funding of the Presidential elections.

If you add the allegations in this article to the Bill Ayers, ACORN and other major questions about Barack Obama, does it not seem odd that the MSM in both the USA and the BBC in the UK are concentrating on "Troopergate" rather than any of these more serious allegations about "the One"?

When the 'right' are always wrong

The shooting of Gabrielle Gifford has once again brought the double standards of the left-wing press and politicians into focus. The denunciations of the 'right's violent imagery' has been a theme of the past few days, whether it be the San Francisco Chronicle in the US or the BBC in the UK.

The San Francisco Chronicle lists many examples of violent imagery relating to Democrat politicians as expressed by right-wing politicians, broadcasters and businessmen. The BBC have been publishing similar examples as used by American politicians. What the left-wing media will not admit is that the left have been as, if not more, guilty than the right in recent years. Neither have reproduced any examples Barack Obama's hateful comments as reported by The American Patriots Commission:

Nor have the left-wing media drawn any comparisons with the hatred expressed by so many of the left in recent years as they wished Dick Cheney would have more heart attacks, and some expressed the desire that Karl Rove be shot.

The way that the left-wing media jumped on this shooting as being something that the right were to blame for was quite disgusting and the eagerness worrying for anyone that believes in an impartial news service. So far as I can see there is nothing to link Jared Lee Loughner to the Tea Party, let alone the Republicans, he seems to have been a registered political independent who did not even vote in the recent elections that the Tea Party/Republicans so dominated.

The left-wing media have used this shooting as a way of attacking Sarah Palin, something that the left seem unable to tire of. However I don't see the connection, beyond Sarah Palin being a keen hunter and being fond of her guns. Jared Lee Loughner was not an evangelical Christian but a very outspoken atheist. So far as I am aware none of his online rants have ever mentioned Sarah Palin.

In fact there are many more links between Jared Lee Loughner and Gabrielle Gifford. It seems that his grudge against her dates back to a public meeting in 2007 when he posed a question regarding his grammar as mind-control theories only for Gabrielle Gifford to treat the theory as a joke. The other link is even more fascinating; I have read in various places including A Tangled Web that:

'“On YouTube Gabrielle Gifford has a channel called “Gifford2″ . If you scroll down to the two people, of the channels that Gifford herself “subscribes” to, you’ll see that they number only two. One is a fellow congressman, and the other is named “Classitup10′s Channel” and is owned by non other than “Jared Lee Loughner”, the bloke who allegedly shot her.'

 Now that  would seem to be an interesting connection, if true but I have yet to see the BBC report it, preferring instead to throw mud at Sarah Palin and the Republicans. Likewise I have read claims that Loughner campaigned FOR Gifford in 2007, but why would that interest the BBC who have a 'narrative' to spread?

Melanie Phillips has written a must read article for The Spectator, do read the whole powerful piece but here is an extract:

"At NRO Mark Levin identifies a terrifying historical echo when he shudders that, such is the tide of irrationality running in this campaign, the American public appears to be falling under the cult-like spell of an authoritarian demagogue. He is surely correct. For all Obama’s laid-back, attractive appearance this election is being fought in an atmosphere of menace. Menace in the way ACORN is intimidating voters into multiple registrations. Menace in the way criminal donations to the Obama campaign have been institutionalised. Menace in the serial lies being told by Obama, Biden and the campaign rebuttal team. Menace in the way the few remaining proper journalists such as Stanley Kurtz are finding sources of information shut down and themselves shut out when they attempt to probe Obama’s deeply dubious associations. Menace in the smears and hysterical abuse directed at anyone who questions The One. Menace in the threat of violence if Obama doesn’t win. Menace in the pre-emptive smear that the only thing that could bring about an Obama defeat is the inherent racism of the American voters – a smear that potentially identifies all those who vote against him as public enemies."

Melanie Phillips and Mark Levin are correct. On a smaller scale, I am going out to dinner with two old school friends (both decidedly left of centre); whilst they feel free to demean Conservative politics in front of me, it will not be acceptable for me to express doubts about the sainted Barack Obama. Should I try and enlighten them or do I leave them happy in their ignorance?

Too mnay interesting things to blog about and not enough time this morning, so here's a few in summary form.

2. Donal Blaney reports the latest piece of US Democrat brainwashing and Obamamessiah news; that:

Out Of Many, One is a piece of propaganda that Goebbels would have been proud to have produced.

Out Of Many, One omits reference to One Term Barry's education at a madrassa in Indonesia, his work with the corrupt community group, Acorn, his underhanded campaigning in the City of Sleaze (aka Chicago) or his consorting with domestic terrorists such as Bill Ayers and hate-filled preachers and race-mongers such as Jeremiah Wright or Al Sharpton. Instead kids are force-fed a diet of one-sided pap that would make Stalin blush. The only surprise in Out Of Many, One is that his white grandmother actually gets a mention. "

I do wonder if the US Democrats really want to encoiurage this 'cult of personality', have they no knowledge of history and how such left wing cults end up - Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot etc. etc.


3. Tory Bear wonders how low the Gordian will go and concludes that:

"Gordon is deliberatly trying to score party political points by stirring up trouble. Now TB knows that sectarian politics is relished in the inner workings of the Scottish Labour Party, but when you are representing the United Kingdom as its leader, you do not stir up a delicate balance of power with references to an English enemy to score cheap shots at your rival. Voter fraud in the USA is rife, just google ACORN if you want details. Today I read on a blog called Innoculated that:

"A few hours ago, Nashville's syndicated radio talk show host Phil Valentine took a phone call from Lynn Greer, one of the two Republican members of the five-member Davidson County Election Commission. Mr. Greer was so angry he could barely control himself. (For the benefit of readers who aren't familiar with Middle Tennessee, Nashville/Davidson County is a Metro area, in which the city and county governments are combined.)

He informed Phil and his listeners that earlier today, someone was bringing in vanloads of non-English-speaking Mexicans with no identification to one of the Nashville early voting locations. Along with the non-English speaking individuals came a bilingual woman to act as their interpreter. She informed the election personnel that she would accompany the voters into the booth, read the ballot for them, and insure that their vote was cast for the candidates of their choice.

The Davidson County Election Commission, including its Democrat members, decided that the individuals would not be allowed to vote on the grounds that since they were unable to speak, understand, or read English, they could not possibly be citizens, and therefore were not qualified to vote. In addition, Mr. Greer mentioned that these people were unable even to request the assistance of a translator themselves. Accordingly, Ray Barrett, Davidson County Administrator of Elections, instructed his employees to refuse to allow any of these individuals to vote.

However, someone prevailed upon Mr. Barrett to call the state in order to verify the Commission's decision. Brook Thompson, the Tennessee State Election Coordinator, then ordered Mr. Barrett and the Davidson County Election Commission to allow these non-English-speaking individuals to vote through their bilingual interpreter despite their lack of any sort of identification and total unfamiliarity with the English language.

Phil and Mr. Greer briefly discussed what could be done. They agreed that the only possible remedy would be for the Tennessee Republican Party to file suit in a Federal court. He told Phil that while he intended to urge the state GOP to make the effort, in view of the recent refusal of a Federal court to grant relief to State Sen. Rosalyn Kurita (whose legitimate Democrat primary win was overturned by the big shots of her party in revenge for her vote in favor of a Republican Lt. Governor), he held out little hope that it would be successful. He also noted that even if a court should decide that the votes of these people were illegal, there is no mechanism for withdrawing them. These are not provisional ballots. Once cast, they are inviolate.

There were several more phone calls in quick succession.

First, Brook Thompson himself called up. He told Phil that Federal law requires that these people be allowed to vote with the help of an interpreter if they wish. He pointed out that in some jurisdictions with a higher percentage of non-English-speaking individuals, the Feds require that ballots and registration materials be printed in four or five languages. Therefore, he insisted that he had no choice but to allow these people to vote.

Phil asked him about the requirement that prospective voters must be able to produce valid identification, and Thompson admitted that this is correct. However, he shifted the burden for enforcement back to the Davidson County Election Commission. When Phil asked him if he intended to send someone down to investigate why the ID requirement was not being enforced, Thompson began to stammer and splutter a bit, and finally gave a noncommittal answer to the effect that he'd look into it.

The next phone call was from a woman identified only as Barbara, who is apparently an officer in the Republican Women's organization. She informed Phil that aside from the identification requirement, Brook Thompson is ignoring another legal mandate of which he is definitely aware. She insisted that the law requires that a prospective voter who desires the assistance of an interpreter must personally request such assistance. In other words, the interpreter is not permitted to go up to the election officials and inform them that she intends to go into the booth and help the voter. She explained that the law includes that provision as protection for the voter against coercion and other forms of voter fraud. Unquestionably, Barbara was accusing Brook Thompson of deliberately ignoring that provision of the law, and thus allowing illegals to vote.

Within a few minutes, a man called up who informed Phil that he had been involved in Tennessee elections for 20 years, and was intimately familiar with the applicable laws. He agreed with Barbara, and added that Brook Thompson is not an attorney, and is not an authority on election law, but is a political appointee – appointed by Democrats. This gentleman disputed Thompson's assertion that Federal law mandates that voters be permitted to use an interpreter. According to him, elections are governed by state law, which plainly requires that any voter who wishes to use an interpreter must personally request permission to do so from the election personnel. He vehemently disagreed with Thompson's decision allowing these non-English-speaking people with no valid identification to vote in a Tennessee election.

The caller also informed Phil and his listeners that any voter has the right to challenge any other voter's qualifications. He advised all of us not to depend solely upon the election personnel, but to take the initiative and inform them of any questionable or suspicious activity which we observe at a polling place.

That's where the matter ended for today. Since it's now Friday evening, it is unlikely that there will be any new developments until Monday, 10/20.

Wednesday, 10/22/08, 5:00 AM: As of yesterday afternoon, there have been no further developments. Phil Valentine reported that he has spoken to various law enforcement authorities, and none have been willing to look into this egregious violation of election laws.

During yesterday's program, Phil spoke by phone with Quin Hillyer, Associate Editorial Page Editor of the Washington Examiner. Quin's paper just published his column Quin-essential cases: No Righting Voting Wrongs in Ohio covering similar voting irregularities in Ohio.

When Phil informed Quin of these recent occurrences in Nashville, his first reaction was a gasp of surprise. He then remarked, "This election is being stolen right from under our noses."

Phil is now trying to formulate a plan for some sort of direct action designed to force the relevant authorities to do their jobs. He's been successful in such efforts in the past. For instance, he was responsible for the famous 2001 horn-blowing mass demonstration at the Tennessee State Capitol which resulted in the defeat of then-Gov. Don Sundquist's proposed income tax. Whether he'll be able to devise a successful strategy this time remains to be seen, but if I were a betting man, I'd be putting my money on Phil."

I have reproduced the whole article as, if true, it seems to need spreading far and wide.

It seems to me that the Democrats, having convinced themselves that "Bush stole the election in 2000", are now prepared to do anything to win this election. In previous elections I could have been persuaded that this was all down to local activists and nothing to do with the party leadership, now I am not so sure...
