Hilary Clinton comes in third in the Iowa Democrat caucus voting and the BBC just don't get it. How can this happen to their chosen candidate? Radio 5 live at around 07:10 started with the headline that Huckabee won for the Republicans and Obama for the Democrats and then went into a five minute discussion of the Democratic party result and what it meant for Hilary Clinton and John Edwards. Hardly any more mention of the Republican result or what it meant for Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney and no mention at all of the John McCain campaign or indeed Fred Thomson. But then why should the BBC give publicity to the Republican party, when the Democrats are going to win this time, aren't they? They must this time surely, the BBC will do their best to ensure that the British population think that is a done deal.
The BBC Radio 4 news headlines at 08:30 tell us that Mike Huckabee won the Republican party nomination and Barack Obama the Democartic party nomination and then tells us that Barack Obama beat Hilary Clinton and John Edwards. The BBC keeping tabs on "their candidates"; after all why should they, or us, be interested in the Republican candidates when the BBC narrative is that Mike Huckerbee is a "creationist", Mitt Romney a "right winger", John McCain and Fred Thomson "too old"
For what it is worth, I predict that Barack Obama will win the Democrat party nomination nomination and John McCain will surprise many to win the Republican party nomination.
