Do I need a whole new blog just to cover Ken Livingstone?

The Daily Telegraph today reports that Ken Livingstone wants to turn Parliament Square into a paved pedestrian piazza and major tourist attraction in time for the 2012 Olympics. Part of the plan will involve moving the eight "listed" statues in the square, including that of Winston Churchill. The other statues are of other great statesman " Abraham Lincoln, Robert Peel, Lord Palmerston, Jan Christian Smuts, Lord Derby, Benjamin Disraeli and George Canning. There is of course also the compulsory statue in Ken Livingstone's London - that of Nelson Mandela. I presume that if Ken decided to just keep one statue it would be Nelson Mandela's rather than Winston Churchill's. Alternatively maybe Ken would replace them all with just one statue to represent all that is best with his world view - that of Yusuf al-Qaradawi.
