Shh keep it quiet

I am quite the cricket fan and so was surprised to learn that the third Test Match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka had been cancelled; odd I thought. So I did some digging and it appears that the Sri Lankan team bus was attacked by gunmen whilst in Lahore on their way to the Gaddafi stadium. I appears that as well as at least five policemen in the Sri Lankan team's motorcade being killed, five Sri Lankan players or officials were injured. Reports tell of the gunmen also carrying rocket launchers which thankfully were not used.

Pakistan's future as a sporting host looks poor. Sri Lanka were only playing there after India pulled out citing security concerns, Australia have cancelled a tour to Pakistan and the 2009 Champions Trophy in Pakistan was cancelled due to safety fears.

I wonder why the BBC seem so shy of reporting such a story. After all if it had happened in Israel this would be banner headline news but as it was presumably an attack by Islamic terrorists, shhhhh don't rock the boat.
