This article shouldn't have been worth mentioning, but...

This morning I found the car radio tuned to Radio London (the BBC local station) and JoAnne Good and Paul Ross were discussing in that Radio breakfast show way the fact that the first two lady Chelsea Pensioners had been inducted yesterday. One mentioned that there was a new facility for the pensioners that was more modern than the old building and that the new building was called the Margaret Thatcher Infirmary. Now having been listening to Radio 4 topical news shows and the drivel put out by 5Live, I assumed that the next line would be a jibe against Lady Thatcher's frailness - I was wrong. They moved on to discuss the lady pensioners having a handbag designed for them and one said well Lady Thatcher was famous for her handbags whilst the other pointed out that maybe she was more famous for being the UK's first female Prime Minister.

So an entirely normal inoffensive conversation is mentioned here because of the complete shock to me that an opportunity to mock or insult "Thatch" was not taken. Maybe I should listen to Radio London at breakfast time from now on, rather than just the Danny Baker show...
