Has the Labour government given up pretending

The local and EU election results seem to have shaken Labour. Whereas before they feared losing the next general election but thought the situation was recoverable, now they fear it isn't. So we see Gordon Brown talking about changing the electoral system (to favour Labour), Labour trying to get a new Speaker of their choosing in place (who will favour Labour) and today I read that importing Labour supporting voters is on the agenda. Apparently:
"Migrants will win fast-track passports if they stand on picket lines or knock on doors asking people to vote Labour, it emerged last night.

The Home Office says trade union activism and political canvassing should count towards the planned new system of 'earned citizenship'.

Migrants who complete 50 hours of voluntary work will be entitled to receive British citizenship after six years - two years earlier than if they do nothing.

Ministers had originally given examples such as running a local scout group rather than helping unions such as the RMT, which this week inflicted crippling strike action on London."
Democracy? Under this Labour government democracy means voting Labour and if you don't vote labour then the rules will have to be changed to ensure a Labour government. There are too many people in the labour party who seriously believe that Labour is right and Tories are evil and that if the public don't see that then in the tradition of "socialist" totalitarian governments, the public must be re-educated.
