Reconnecting with voters

I see that Gordon Brown wants to reconnect with voters and is going to appear on Songs of Praise. Two thoughts come to mind: first if Gordon Brown wants to really reconnect with voters then he should call a general election and second that maybe the interviewer could ask Gordon "moral compass" Brown where he stands on the ninth of the Ten Commandments - "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour".
