That's an odd coincidence



So why does the symbol above the building on the front on the UK £20 note seem to be the same as that of the Common Purpose 'charity'?

Is Common Purpose a charity ? That is outrageous. Presumebly it qualifies as being for "educational purposes", common purposes.
