Is this a foretaste of our future?

Did you see "Make me a Muslim" on Channel 4 last night? If not, then you can watch it here at Little Green Footballs (as usual, a rider - I do not endorse all of the views expressed at Little Green Footballs).

It is interesting that the participants chosen as representative of the UK population are a "gay hairdresser, an atheist taxi driver, a skincare centre manager, a glamour model and a mixed race couple" I am sure it will make good TV but is it a serious look at the issue of conversion? Will Channel 4 make a companion programme "Make me a Christian" where six Muslims live as Christians - except that whilst Christians, Jews, Hindus etc., etc. can convert to Islam, any Muslim converting to another religion will face the death penalty in an Islamic country. Indeed according to an opinion poll in January 2007, "36 percent of young British Muslims think apostates should be killed.".

This may be our future...
