"Brown wants to nationalise our bodies"

Take a read of Iain Dale on this story and Gordon Brown's inconsistencies.

Not too surprising Gordon Brown needed positive headlines and he needed them quick, he got the BBC to soften us up (read Biased-BBC for details of this story) and then released the "news".

This "idea" of Gordon Brown's seems at first site to be laudable, after all many people need donated organs. However when you think more deeply the proposals are actually quiet disquieting. My body belongs to me, albeit that Mrs NotaSheep has a fair interest in it, not the state and I don't trust the whole opting out idea. Will I have to carry an opt-out card and rely on that being found when I die or will there be a National Donors Database? If there is a National Donors Database then how reliable will the information held on it be? If it lives up to the standards of other Labour Government IT projects, then the answer will probably be - not very reliable.
