Barack Obama, Gerry Adams and Sinn Fein general secretary Rita O’Hare

The Irish News has a photo of Barack Obama and Gerry Adams standing either side of Sinn Fein general secretary Rita O’Hare about a year ago in Washington DC. Gerry Adams was in Washington having meetings with members of Congress. I am not sure what Rita O'Hare is doing there for whilst she is the general secretary of Sinn Fein and a representative of that organisation in the USA, she has a rather interesting past. As The Irish Times report:
"The Belfast woman has been wanted in Britain and Northern Ireland since being charged with the attempted murder of a soldier in her native city in 1971.

She was shot and seriously wounded in the incident.

After being granted bail she fled to the Republic, where she served three years for trying to smuggle material into a jail holding IRA prisoners."

A few questions come to mind:
Why are the UK government not trying to extradite this "on the run"?
Are the Labour government so in thrall to appeasing Sinn Fein/IRA that they don't care about justice?
Did Barack Obama know about Rita O'Hare's past when he had his photo taken with her?
Did Barack Obama know about Gerry Adams' past when he had his photo taken with him?
Will the BBC or any US media cover this story?

I think we all know the answers to these questions.

Thanks to Curly's Corner Shop for the spot.

I don't know but it was the Irish News not the Irish Times that covered the story!

Why did the Republicans fail to kick her out?
