The Falklands and Argentina's ambitions

I blogged twice recently about oil near the Falklands and Argentina's increasing interest in claiming the islands. Now I read that:
"Britain and Argentina have lodged competing claims for 460,000 square miles of seabed around the Falkland Islands and South Georgia. ... "The British insistence in assuming extended competence over the Malvinas [Falkland Islands], South Georgia and Southern Sandwich Islands and their surrounding maritime areas is unacceptable and inadmissible," said Jorge Taiana, the Argentine foreign minister. "Such competences only correspond to the sovereign state: the Republic of Argentina.""
I wonder what Gordon Brown would do if the Argentinians invaded the Falklands, somehow I don't think throwing a Nokia phone will deter them.

I wish something prevented Galtieri (the drunk dictator) from ordering the invasion... a Nokia phone or else...
