I was once at an airshow in Northern Ireland where a Vulcan did a low-level pass followed by a full-power climb-out coincident with my vantage point. I thought the ground was going to open up and swallow me, the sight and sound was so impressive.

What a pity that other iconic aircraft - Concorde is no longer flying. I was fortunate to be right at the end of the runway and almost under the flight path when one took off from Aldergrove after a brief visit. And I didn't have my camera - Doh!
