Feleicity Kendal fever spreads

The news that Felicity Kendal is to appear on the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing has lead to many Felicity fans coming out of the closet (so to speak). At the weekend I read Simon Mills declare that:

'Every Sunday evening, between 1975 and 1978, we would sit in front of the new colour telly with our parents, watching The Good Life and waiting patiently for the magical moment when Barbara Good - played by Felicity Kendal - would appear in all of her organic glory, dressed in jeans, a man's shirt and a pair of dirty Wellington boots.

If we were really lucky, Miss Kendal would also be holding a pitchfork. Or trying to jump-start a lawn mower.

As far as my teenage self knew, no grown woman had ever managed to cross-dress with such a knockabout aplomb, and still look so effortlessly cute. She was as hot as an Aga in February.'
