Vince Cable is quoted as having apologised for his comment that "I have declared war on Mr Murdoch and I think we are going to win".
His apology runs thus: "I deeply regret the comments I made and apologise for the embarrassment that I have caused the Government."
Am I right in reading that as he regrets making the comments and the embarrassment caused but not the sentiment behind the comments?
