Aircraft terrorism defeated?

I am not sure if this is, as they say, 'for real' but it seems a sensible idea to me...
'The Israelis are developing an airport security device that eliminates the privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners.

It’s an armored booth you step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on your person.

Israel sees this as a win-win situation for everyone, with none of this crap about racial profiling.

It will also eliminate the costs of long and expensive trials. You’re in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion.

Shortly thereafter, an announcement: “Attention to all standby passengers, we now have a seat available on flight 670 to London . Shalom!”'
Could anyone argue against such a system? The bomber gets to explode as he/she wanted, albeit killing only themselves, and the general law-abiding public don't have to queue for ages, be subjected to ever more personal searches or be made to feel like a criminal for carrying some nail clippers or a Swiss Army penknife.

The report comes from Colonel 6.

They already have armoured rooms in which suspect luggage is examined. This avoids having to evacuate the whole terminal, like we do, and only risks the brave security agent (& hopefully the owner of the bag too).
