Imad Mughinyua

The BBC have predicatably "gone big" on the death of Imad Mughinyua and have been linking it with the Israeli government. You can all but hear their glee as their pin-up boy "Sheikh Nasrallah blamed Israel for his death and said its war against the Jewish state was not over. "Zionists, if you want this sort of open war, then let the whole world hear, so be it!" he told crowds of mourners at Mughniyeh's funeral in Beirut. Sheikh Nasrallah said that Israel thought that killing "would lead to the destruction of the resistance... but they are wrong". "The blood of Imad Mughniyeh will make them [Israel] withdraw from existence," he insisted." Except he didn't say "will make them [Israel] withdraw from existence", AL Jazeera report that the said "Moghniyeh's blood will lead to the elimation of Israel." as do other news agencies. I wonder why the BBC saw fit to adjust what he said to make it sound less threatening to Israel?

The latest BBC news page on this story tells us that "Syria has said it will soon present "irrefutable" proof of who was behind the killing of Hezbollah commander Imad Mughniyeh in the capital, Damascus.
Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem would not discuss the ongoing investigation, but insisted the world would "soon hear the results of this mighty effort"."

That sounds exciting, I wonder if it will take into account the Kuwaiti daily paper "Awan" which has reported, from a knowledgeable Arab source, that Imad Mughinyua was killed as he was preparing a car bomb. The source said that Mughniya had prepared several car bombs for sending to Lebanon in order to prevent the March 14 Forces from holding a rally to mark the third anniversary of the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Al-Hariri."

Something tells me that the Syrian government will fins a different explanation and that the BBC will swallow that story and not bother themselves with alternative views from less biased sources.
