"not in the public interest"

Just as I predicted in my piece about why Peter Hain will not be prosecuted. I was fairly sure that Wendy Alexander would not be prosecuted for one of the same reasons "a prosecution would not be in the public interest" or "insufficient evidence to prosecute".

True to expectations the decision is reported today that "The Electoral Commission said it was "not in the public interest" to report to the Crown Office or Procurator Fiscal Service on the issue of whether accepting the donation was an offence.


By the way what a choice of photos of Wendy Alexander on the above page, currently these two are on display - the first is, as almost all photos of Wendy Alexander that I have seen are, shot from below, the second is just weird...
