Got a problem? Just throw money at it.

That would appear to be Gordon Brown's motto. Following the 10p tax debacle and the £2.7m Crewe and Nantwich failed bribe, now Gordon is prepared to pay £3,000 a day for every day over 28 days that someone is held and then not charged - so that's a maximum of £42,000 to a suspect held and released without charge.

I wonder how the £3,000 per day been arrived at?

This has nothing to do with national security it is to do with proving that Gordon Brown has bigger balls than Tony Blair.

It appears that other sums of money are being made available to persuade Labour MPs to vote the way Gordon wants. Isn't it good to know how much value a Labour MP puts upon his integrity(sic)?
