Obama and Clinton

I am confused; Barack Obama has claimed victory as he has the requisite number of delegates pledged to him, whilst Hillary Clinton has not conceded victory.

Barack Obama has declared himself to be "the Democratic nominee for president of the United States". Hillary Clinton seems unwilling to throw in the towel yet. Whether she really thinks that she can take her claims to be the candidate with the highest share of the popular vote as well as the candidate with the best chance of beating John McCain all the way to the Democratic Convention to be held in August in Denver I do not know and I doubt if anyone other than Hillary knows at the moment. What I do know is that Hillary desperately wants to be President of the United States of America and she will do whatever she thinks will best help her to achieve that goal. It may be that she sacrifices 2008, hopes that McCain beats Obama and then runs again in 2012.

Hillary is beaten. She's just praying that Obama calls to offer her the VP ticket, which probably won't happen.
