Porn on the plane

Delta airlines are bringing in wifi internet access on some planes, but The Register report that:
"The skies are looking bleaker for those who like to enliven dull plane trips with a bit of internet porn - Delta Airlines has announced it intends to filter "inappropriate" websites on its planned airborne Wi-Fi service.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Delta had said it "planned to rely on flight attendants to handle inappropriate situations". However, it's now decided to scrub that idea, and is "working with Wi-Fi provider Aircell to use a system to block inappropriate content"."

Why is it that any technical innovation immediately has the "no porn" brigade out in force? Why do they imagine that people will start browsing for porn when on a plane? Do the airlines currently check people's laptops, mediaplayers and portable DVD players for porn before take-off?

Please let adults be adults and trust to discretion; who in their right mind would choose to look at porn at 36,000 feet whilst sitting six foot away from five strangers? On second thoughts, don't answer that.
