Public sector jobs "blood bath"

You can ignore Gordon Brown's increasingly desperate lies as he tries to persuade a sceptical public that jobs and spending investment are safe under Labour and at risk under the evil Tory toffs. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development claim that Labour's plans will lead to 350,000 job losses in the public sector within six years. Placing the blame at Gordon Brown's door, chief CIPD economist John Philpott warned of a 'bloodbath in the public finances':
"The fiscal squeeze implied by Government plans will result in 350,000 job cuts in the public sector between 2010/11 and 2014/15. This will be preceded by around 30,000 job cuts in local authorities in the next year."
The experts know it, the public know it, the Government know it but inly the latter try to pretend it isn't going to happen.
