For BBC News the history of Jerusalem began in 1967

This BBC report http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-43098896 on an incident between Gaza and Israel contains one of those BBC standard paragraphs that shows their bias whilst trying not to.

'Israel regards Jerusalem as its indivisible capital. Palestinians want the east of the city, which Israel occupied in the 1967 Middle East war, to be a capital of a future state.'

Q. So who occupied Jerusalem prior to 1967?
A.  Jordan, the country created as the state for the Arabs on the majority of the land promised to the future Jewish state.

Q. Israel has ceded control of the Temple Mount to the Islamic Waqf, it also being the third holiest site in Islam. How did Jordan treat Jewish worshippers 1948-1967?
A. They banned Jewish worship at the holiest remaining site in Judaism, the Western (Wailing) wall, used Jewish cemetery headstones for paving and turned the Jewish graveyards into toilets.

Some facts that the BBC deliberately hide by only starting the history of Jerusalem in 1967. Just how damming was the Balen Report?
