An interesting article has caught my eye at Crushed by Ingsoc, it explains the numbering sequences used by Kings (and Queens) and some of the oddities thrown-up. Take a read, I found it fascinating but then I am a sucker for history.
I am recommending this link despite my blog appearing on Crushed by Ingsoc's "More Thought Criminals" list.
