The Netherlands election result
The BBC are upset that 'A Dutch anti-Islam party has more than doubled its seats in parliament in a national vote'. The BBC fervently hope that a governing coalition can be formed without Geert Wilders' party. Stand by for some vilification of Geert Wilders by the BBC in the coming weeks.

The BBC were really surprised at just how well Mr Wilders' right-wing party did - and, also, blatantly disappointed at how well the Dutch Liberal Party did. (Dutch Liberals are firmly right-of-centre. They are Classic Liberals. We here in the UK and in the USA forget such parties exist.)
This is part of a pattern.
The BBC were no less surprised that right-of-centre parties (including the Eurosceptic, 'climate change denying' Civic Democrats - the party of Vaclac Klaus) trounced the Left in the Czech general election.
They also seemed taken aback by the right-wing sweep in the recent Italian local elections.
The BBC never seems to expect right-of-centre parties to win elections. This must be purely a result of wishful thinking on their part.
