This BBC report https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-44919771 is happy to identify the colour of the attacker 'White', I don't recall the BBC being as happy when the perpetrator is of a darker hue. Of course this might be down to the Canadian authorities being happy to be clear that white men are generally bad.
