The BBC manage to report the news that:
'Israel's cabinet has approved a scheme to allow into the country nearly 8,000 Ethiopians of Jewish descent.'
But being the BBC they have to get in this dig:
'More than 100,000 Jews from Ethiopia are believed to live in the country. They make up one of the poorest sections of Israeli society.'
Presumably the Falasha feel they are better off in Israel than Ethiopia, that's why they want to leave the latter for the former. Maybe they realise that it is better to live in Israel than in desperately poor conditions in transit camps in northern Ethiopia.
