When a person's religion is important and when it's not - according to the BBC re Nicolas Anelka

The BBC's coverage of the Nicolas Anelka 'quennelle' gesture and the resulting fallout has been interesting.

One aspect that struck me was that whilst David Baddiel was described here as (the) 'Jewish comedian and writer David Baddiel' and West Bromich Albion sponsor Zoopla was described here as 'co-owned by Jewish businessman Alex Chesterman', nowhere on the BBC (that I have seen) has Nicolas Anelka's religion been mentioned. After all it's not as though there's any history of Muslim hatred and persecution of Jews...
