Tasteful?

"I wish he had died in that crash and that he had been decapitated and that his head had rolled off in front of his wife and that a jagged piece of metal debris from the car had got stuck in his eye and blinded him.

And then his head had rolled on a few more yards into a pool of boiling oil and that his head had retained just enough neural capacity for him to be able to think "ooh, this is bit hot" before the whole thing exploded into tiny pieces."

..."I wish Richard Hammond HAD died and I wish he had been decapitated. Of course, it’s a joke. But coincidentally it’s also what I believe."
That's comedian Stuart Lee on Richard Hammond, according to The Daily Mail. I wonder if Stuart Lee will apologise to Richard Hammond. Somehow I doubt it because lefty tossers like Stuart Lee, like to push the comedy envelope and no doubt see Top Gear presenters as fair game, they being completely not right-on. Apparently it was a joke; sounds rather more angry and personal to me.

Lee's recent series was car-crash TV (in painfully slow motion).

The text you quoted from the Lee routine is completely out of context. If i was to judge Lee on what you, and indeed the British media have quoted, I too would have found it bitter and angry. However it wasn't, it was a fine and very funny performance by Lee, that aimed slightly above the heads of the general British public.

Ah I see, so I and the rest of the British public are too stupid to understand the incredible wit and insight of Stuart Lee.

How very condescending of you. I am of course honoured that you even bother to waste your time and obvious huge intellect commenting on such a poor blog as mine. I trust that you have now returned to the higher plains of the intelligentsia having soiled your brain here.

The irony is that this part of Stewart Lee's routine is making a point of people using offensive humour and then justifying their views by saying 'it was just a joke'. So his comments on Richard Hammond are only used to make this point. This would be evident to you and the Daily Mail if you had researched before posting. Thank you though for the video on the preachers triumph over the kkk, it was rather odd to see someone talk so candidly about their racist beliefs. Is he a reformed clan member now?
