Brett Kavanaugh: Key senators back embattled Supreme Court choice the BBC News can use analogies that Conservative MPs can't

This BBC report includes some 'Analysis' from, in my view TDS sufferer, Anthony Zurcher, BBC North America reporter:

'... Now that the bombs have been thrown, it's time to assess the fallout.'

Presumably at the BBC it's a good thing to use 'bombs' analogies but not 'suicide vests', but I don't see the massive difference in offence caused by the two expressions.
