No probe into MG Rover collapse

The SFO have announced that they will not be launching an investigation into the collapse of MG Rover and that the four year long £16 million "independent report" into the saga will be released on 11 September. Somehow I doubt that the "independent report" will be the "smoking gun" with regard to the Labour government's involvement that many are hoping for. The fact that in the spring of 2005, in the run-up to a general election, the Labour government provided some short-term financial support but withheld more substantial aid is I am sure coincidental.
