I wonder if Michael Crick will investigate?

The Times report that the BBC are not only spending £1m on lobbying the government ahead of the 2007 licence fee settlement, they are also quietly funding unions to protest at next month’s Labour party conference against proposals to share the licence fee with ITV and other broadcasters. It seems that the BBC
"is paying part of the cost of a meeting at the Hilton hotel in Brighton — which is being promoted publicly as an event by Bectu, the broadcast technicians’ union, and the National Union of Journalists (NUJ)."
I resent any part of my licence fee being spent in this manner, if the BBC cannot even report accurately maybe they should spend money in that area.
