Labour social engineering, where will it end?

The BBC report the news that:
"Campaigners have welcomed an idea to give poorer students a two grade "head start" to help them get places at the leading universities."
That should kill off what remains of Labour's middle class achiever vote. But then maybe Labour are more interested in shoring up their core "working class" (for which you can often read "not working and have no intention of doing so class") vote for fear of losing even more votes to the hard left BNP. "Hard left"? Have you read their policies, they are a party of the extreme left not the extreme right; don't let the Labour/BBC narrative that racism is a "right-wing" issue fool you.

All that will happen is that the cleverer students will not want to go to British Universities. I already have friends with children at university in U.S.A., Canada and France. The one in U.S.A. managed to get some sort of grant from the university, and he reckons the total cost will be about the same as here, even including fares and lodgings.
