The video isn't far from the truth.
A friend who is a Professor of Mathematics (I won't mention which University) was writing a case for some funds to research a particular aspect of mathematics (far too esoteric for me to understand) and he was told in all seriousness by colleagues that he would stand a better chance of getting it past the grants committee if he could include some references to sexual and racial equality, diversity and "the community".
In Mathematics! Such is life these days.
