To all of the Trump haters, all of the Hilary Clinton supporters...

I've seen so many crying Hillary Clinton supporting snowflakes on YouTube over the last few days that I thought this chap would make a fine antidote to their upset.

"Rocky Horror Show - Once in a While"

Rocky Horror Show -  "Once in a While"

The one song from the stage musical that was cut from the film.

This is the scene cut from the film, I'd never seen that scene until today... I love YouTube!

Odd things tongues

YouTube has some rather odd tongue related videos, here are some of them.

A split tongue, how and why do spring to my mind...

A talented tongue...

A very wide tongue...

A very fast tongue...

Nick's 9cm long tongue...

I think that's enough for now.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear

This delightful couple of self-professed jihadis call the EDL's Tommy Robinson a "paedophile" - surely this is actionable, declare Israel a terrorist state - completely untrue, state that Israel want to wipe out the Palestinians - also untrue although Hamas do regularly call for the destruction of Israel and the death of Jews.

However, quite the most bizarre claim is that Tommy Robinson has supported the "Israelification of Britain by allowing Zionist fascists to hijack the foreign policy of our country" and that "our boys are fighting wars for Israel". The UK is increasingly anti-Israel and the Foreign Office is as Arabist as ever.

It was also odd to hear the claim that Tommy Robinson's master was sitting "in Tel Aviv". Someone should inform these two self-professed jihadis that if Tommy Robinson were controlled by the Israeli government (something that I sincerely doubt is the case) then his 'master' would be sitting in Jerusalem because that is where the Israeli parliament, government and supreme court have been sited since 1949. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, surely the two self-confessed jihadis should surely know that.

The two self-confessed jihadis make another claim that I really hope is not true:
"There is no such thing as militant Islam, it's only Islam. And our religion is perfect... There is no such thing as a moderate Muslim, there is also no such thing as an extremist Muslims, we are just Muslims. And as Muslims we embrace every part of our religion and our religion will never change."
I do find it scary and depressing that people can believe such rubbish and that other people pay them any heed.

The ultimate Downfall parody

It seems that the Downfall parodies are being removed from YouTube at the request of the movie studio, the above is a fine commentary...

Thanks to Harry's Place for the spot.

Danish girls are easy!

Believe it or not this was a video promoting tourism in Denmark.

The video shows a young blonde woman, trying to find a man whom she had a one night stand with, who fathered her child "August". VisitDenmark's manager, Dorte Kiilerich said the film was supposed to be a "nice and sweet story of a woman" and that she regretted any offence the video may have caused, but the intent had been to tell "a nice and sweet story about a grown-up woman who lives in a free society and accepts the consequences of her actions".

In the advert, the woman says - in English - that she was "trying to find August's father".

"We met one night a year and a half ago when you were on vacation here in Denmark.

"We met... and then decided to have a drink and, yeah, it's really embarrassing but it's more or less what I remember.

"I don't remember where you're from or even your name."

Critics says the video implied that along with traditional tourism, Denmark was a place to go to have unprotected sex with strangers.

The original YouTube clip has been removed after receiving more than 800,000 hits, however copies like the one above are still spreading across YouTube.

Welcome back the music or "Can you hear the drums?"

YouTube has finally signed an agreement with the PRS to allow music videos back on YouTube for UK users. This will take some time to implement but over the next month or two many thousands of music videos will be brought back onto the site.

Since March YouTube UK has been, officially at least, bereft of copyrighted music as a result of the Google-owned service failing to reach agreement with the PRS. I believe that YouTube is now paying a lump-sum payment for a licence to run from January 2009, when the last agreement expired, until 2012.

Some music has been available since March, I was listening to various Sparks tracks just last weekend as well as researching for an upcoming "House of the Rising Sun" posting...

100,000,000 hits - who will be first

The race to be the first You Tube video to get to 100 million viewings is hotting up. There seem to be two contestants, the first is a video that I blogged about in February there is Judson Laipply's incredible "Evolution of Dance" now with 96,908,330 views and there is Avril Lavigne's teeny "Girlfriend" video now with 98,501,857 views.

Judson Laipply's video can be seen here:

But for Avril Lavigne's you will need to visit You Tube.

100 million - puts us bloggers in our place, doesn't it.

Gordon Brown goes digital (update)

Further to my post and others about Gordon Brown on YouTube appealing for questions, the dead tree media have picked up on the story. The Times have a sketch article by Ann Treneman that makes some nice points:

"Gordon Brown has launched something called “Ask the PM” on YouTube. His appeal for questions lasts only 40 seconds and yet each of those seconds seems a second too long. I suppose that it is so bad that it might almost be good. But the problem is that YouTube already has some great Gordo clips such as the all-time classic “Gordon Brown Picking His Nose”. This may be tasteless (though not to Gordon, apparently) but it's riveting.

Not so “Ask the PM”. The only question I had for Gordon after watching it was: “Why?”

...

The truth is that the whole “Ask the PM” venture is confusing, if not for Gordo then certainly for us (at the time of writing, it has had 13,230 hits compared with 249,839 for Gordon Picking His Nose).

...

Why, for instance, is our Prime Minister sitting in what appears to be the spare room? After all, he lives in Downing Street and so, we must assume, could have his pick of backdrops: sweeping staircases, cosy fireplaces, etc. But instead Gordon is plopped between a printer and a fridge that has (gasp) bottled water. Bottled water? I'm sorry but that is so uncool it's tropical.

The camera wobbles (why? a tribute to cinéma vérité?) as Gordon burbles on about his “new exciting new initiative”. “I will be here to answer your questions, questions you have about how globalisation is working.”

Gordon must have written this “script” himself. No one else would think that the question on everyone's lips would be: “How is globalisation working?” There may be a few other topics (financial meltdown, his odd smile, the polls) that intrude."

Gordon, I think you have been rumbled, the tide has turned you are now officially a "laughing stock", as I first documented last November when I blogged:

"Bad news Gordon but tonight when Graham Norton made a joke about you and the audience laughed approvingly it struck me - you are now officially a figure of fun!

The joke was about a picture of you and your wife looking glum at the Queen and Prince Phillip's 60th anniversary service.

"What happened to him?

Did he get his dream job and discover he's shit at it"

That and a gag about the missing data disks, and a piss take of Alistair Darling
-hello Darling, ... Darling, "you're a fucking idiot Darling, you're sacked"

Hatred is bearable for a government, Mrs Thatcher thrived on it. What kills a government is derision, it killed Major's government and it will kill Gordon Brown's. Trust me it will get worse, Graham Norton today, Jonathan Ross tomorrow and it will spread.

NotaSheep are you enjoying Gordon Brown's embarrassment? Oh yes I am, schadenfreude is a wonderful feeling."

Gordon Brown goes digital

As I blogged earlier, Gordon Brown is taking his massive personality online and will be answering video questions submitted to the Labour party's YouTube channel.

Here's Gordon Brown's request for questions in all its glory...

His fake smile has been turned down from puke-inducing to just queasy-making which is an improvement, at this rate his presence on-screen will be merely anodyne by the time of the next general election. I do like the slightly wobbly camera work, not enough to seem edgy (in a late 1990's way) but enough to make you notice and wonder why they bothered.

Of course there is a better piece of video showing Gordon Brown entering the "digital" age and here it is...

Meanwhile, Play Political has some example video questions...
