I'll not hold my breath waiting for the BBC to report this.

Not the whole story on the BBC

I rarely print whole stories for comparison but this one is so stark that I feel it warrants it.

First the BBC article hidden away on the Manchester news page:

'Man charged with assault on teenager in Hyde

A man has been charged with assault after an attack on a teenage boy in Greater Manchester left him with fractured eye sockets.

The 21-year-old from Hyde was charged following the attack on the 17-year-old in Tameside on Saturday.
After falling while trying to escape a gang of young men, the teenager was punched and kicked on the ground.
The man was remanded in custody at Tameside Magistrates' Court to appear at Manchester Crown Court in March.

A 17-year-old boy was also arrested in connection with the incident, but has been bailed pending further enquires.

Police said the teenager and his friend were passing a takeaway in Hyde when a group of young men and women began goading them.

One of the boys was punched and kicked as he lay on the ground, suffering two fractured eye sockets, while his friend was punched in the face.

The first victim is now in a stable condition.'

Not a lot of context or detail there....

Now the same news as in The Mail - just the start of the article as the missing details are all there:

A teenager was left for dead after being chased and savagely beaten by a gang of Asians in a suspected racist attack.

Daniel Stringer, 17, was pursued through a busy town centre by up to eight men and then repeatedly kicked and punched in the head.

He was left in the road, bleeding and barely conscious, as the gang melted away into the night.

Police say there is no evidence of provocation and are treating the attack as a serious hate crime.'

Why is there no mention of the assailants' race on the BBC? Why no mention on the BBC of the police treating the attack as 'serious hate crime'?

What is the BBC playing at?

To be fair to the police

I have been criticised for some of my comments about the police giving up during last week's riots and also for showing some videos of police brutality on the streets. As I have said before such brutality did not cause the riots, greed and a lack of respect for society or fear of the consequences were more important.

Here is a video I found on YouTube that shows some of what was happening on one night last week and I find it upsetting but not surprising that so many of 'da yout' are so willing to destroy, rob and burn property.

Please bear in mind that now the genie is out of the bottle and people know that for one night they can probably get away with this sort of action, they may be tempted to try it again... Who knows when they will try it but I am willing to bet more incidents before the end of the year? 

How prescient!

Thanks to a recent anonymous commenter I have been reminded of this post from January 2008. Here's the relevant extract, but do read the whole piece:

'I am a relatively streetwise Mr NotaSheep, but I try not to walk alone or with Mrs NotaSheep at night on London's streets. To be honest a lot of London's streets are probably unsafe in broad daylight. The gangs of feral youths that "own" the streets now know that the chances of a policeman catching them in the act of mugging a passerby are almost zero, the chances of any CCTV actually working or producing a decent image or not being used to take photos of cars parked six inches onto a yellow line or one minute into a proscribed period are also nil and even if caught the chances of being charged let alone convicted are somewhat slim and as for having to go to prison for more than six months, the odds are infinitesimal.

This Labour government tell us the country is safer than 10 years ago and Ken Livingstone tells us that crime is down in London. The trouble is, we know the truth and the truth is that the streets are more dangerous than 10 years ago and law-abiding people feel unsafe to walk 400 yards across the West End on a Saturday night after a meal out or a visit to the theatre, let alone pop out to buy a kebab in Peckham.

This Labour government have all but destroyed that which holds the fabric of society together and as the economy collapses this year the results on the street will not be pretty.'

Broken Britain?

In case you are wondering what type of people are rioting and why take a listen to these two linked items.

Two looters admit that they can afford to buy what they are stealing, one's doing it because the government can't stop him and the other says "I'll keep doing this every day until I get caught" and "When I get home nothing is going to happen to me." The prisons are full... ASBOs don't seem to be much of a deterrent.

Two Croydon girls giggle "It was good though" and say it's "the government's fault.. whoever it is". "Showing the police we can do what we like". They are targeting "rich people" and showing them that "we can do what we want".

There you have it, modern Britain after years and years of pandering to the underclass. Protecting them from reality by supplying more and more benefits and allowing them to live on benefits whilst bringing in East Europeans and third world labour to do the jobs that our pampered underclass have decided are beneath them. Years and years of erasing discipline from the home, the school, the workplace and the streets and oddly enough we have raised a generation or more of people with no respect for authority, no concept of morality or civic pride and no moral scruples about looting, burning and beating people up.

Welcome to Britain; in fact you're welcome to it.

The part the media, especially the BBC, have played in the spreading of the riots

Even Mrs NotaSheep, not the most political or media aware of people, has worked it out. This morning she said - 'the media are encouraging the rioters with this talk of the police not being able to work without a break and one more night and they will be too tired.' She's right of course, she generally is, but the media's culpability goes back further. When Mrs NotaSheep says the media she means BBC Radio 4 as that is the only radio station that she listens to in the morning whilst getting dressed. Much of the BBC's reporting of the initial Tottenham riots were skewed to blame the police for the affair and to excuse the rioters as much as possible with talk of government cuts, inequality and so on.

Imagine that you are an unemployed youth, bored with life and longing for excitement. Some bloke gets shot by the police and there are protests, that's boring. But then the protests turn into riots and your television screen shows you pictures of young people just like you throwing firebombs and attacking police cars - now that looks like fun. You carry on watching and the BBC commentary doesn't call for action against the rioters or decry the violence and its perpetrators but excuses it; it's the fault of the government for the cuts, of the police for not understanding the needs of the community. Then you notice that the looting has started and people just like you are smashing shop windows and walking off with flat screen televisions, mobile phones and jewellery. Now, as they say, 'this just got interesting'. So you call your mates and suddenly its obvious - there's an electronics shop on the high street where the people who do work and do pay taxes buy their televisions and home entertainment systems and there's a Carphone Warehouse and a jeweller. You want a new television, you deserve one, after all it's not your fault that you don't work, it's not your fault that you didn't work at school, didn't pass any exams, didn't try and achieve. The television keeps telling you that you should have what you want, that anyone can follow their dream and your dream at the moment is a big screen television, a new mobile phone and maybe some jewellery for your girl. You know the police won't stop you, they want the overtime and the thrill off the baton charge, protecting property is not that interesting any more. So you and your friends start a riot and guess what, the police don't stop you as you throw bricks at shop windows and cars. The police don't even stop you as you start a fire as a distraction. And yes... the police don't even stop you as you walk out of the electronics store with a 42" LCD television, out of Carphone warehouse with some of the latest mobile phones or out of the jewellery shop with a gold chain and a nice watch. So you go home and wonder if you should go 'shopping' tonight as well.

Meanwhile another youth sits at home in a town that has not yet had a 'riot' and says "I'd like a new television, I wonder..."

It's not about 'Cuts', it's not about under-investment, it's not about a lack of youth clubs. It is about looting and greed

The copycat riots show how many of the nation's youth are happy to break the law when they know that they are very unlikely to be caught and that if they are caught they are unlikely to be punished in any meaningful manner. Here's one comment from the BBC's live news:

'John Skinner from West Ealing writes: Young people were dragging boxed flat screen TV's in their hands with impunity. I saw a convoy of police cars driving past. The officers were clearly stretched. No cars stopped. I also saw Seba Electronics being ransacked; two or three TV's were stolen by one person. His audacity brought gasps from onlookers. I feel awful for the owner and his wife who are always pleasant and helpful and have had their business there for years. They do not deserve what has happened. Carphone Warehouse is engulfed by plumes of smoke. Wilkinsons, Boots, Cash Converters and other stores in the area were also attacked. It was simply pure greed.'

For some years now I have been predicting the economic collapse that is engulfing Western society and have received derisive comments from many. I have also been predicting civil unrest and have been under even more attack for that. It seems that I was right as British society has been so fractured and diminished by the policies of the last Labour government that civil cohesion is no more.

Since the last BBC headline I saw was about Ealing, I thought I'd take a look at the Ealing press. Here's a headline from The Ealing Gazette that I never thought I'd read ''Police have control of Ealing' says council leader'. Within that article is another example of what this rioting is about and how it affects normal law-abiding people.

'Sudha Venkataramana saw a car set on fire outside the family home just off Castlebar Road, Ealing, before 11pm. She said: "We heard loud noises on the street at about 10.45pm. There was a group of 20 to 25 teenagers on the street in Castlebar Road off Pinewood Grove. We heard them smashing car windows as they went by and set this car on fire.

"Almost all the cars parked outside have their windows smashed and dented. I can't believe this is happening, so unreal. I hope the culprits are caught and punished."'

The looting and vandalism occurring over this country is not about the cuts or much else other than some of this country's youth who have been brought up without anyone instilling in them a sense of right & wrong or a respect & fear of the law, realising that they they can just take what they want from shops and smash up what they want, as they will not be punished even if they are caught and convicted.

Seba Electronics in Ealing has nothing to do with the Government's cuts (such as they are), Seba electronics has not closed any local council services, Seba electronics has not oppressed the youth. What Seba Electronics has is a stock of shiny expensive things that these youth want and they know they can take without rear of any consequences. As I predicted yesterday unless the rioting is clamped down on, and clamped down hard, this could spread and spread very quickly. Do you really see David Cameron, Nick Clegg & Teresa May doing anything other than spouting platitudes and empty threats?

Some years ago I predicted that the UK was finished and that anyone who could, should get out. I made a big mistake, I allowed myself to be persuaded to stay. I wonder now if it is too late...

Isn't modern Britain marvelous?

Read this story from yesterday's Mail and tell me what sort of punishment the guilty individual who threw the brick should get. Now tell me what you think he will actually get as a sentence. Now tell me how that makes you feel...

'Recalling the incident, Mr Perry said: ‘Jersey-Lou, my partner and my other daughter were with me in the van - they were strapped into the passenger seats.

‘I had pulled over when a group of lads started kicking a ball up against the door.

‘It was scaring the girls so I got out and told them to pack it in because I had young kids inside.


‘A group of about 12 to 15 of them started to walk towards me. I got back in the van and was going to drive away.

‘I started driving off and a guy who had been hiding behind a wall jumped out and threw something.

‘I heard glass smashing and looked over to see if everyone was all right.

‘That’s when I saw Jersey-Lou had been hit. She was out cold and there was blood everywhere.’

Mr Perry drove straight to the Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital, in Grimsby, where his injured daughter was kept in overnight for observation.

She was treated for a broken nose, two broken front teeth, and dozens of cuts and bruises - but the long-term effects of her injuries will not be known until she has been seen by a bone specialist next week.'

'Police have arrested a 17-year-old youth after a four-year-old girl was left with horrific injuries when she was hit in the face with a brick.

Jersey-Lou Perry was knocked out, her nose was broken and shards of glass were embedded in her face after the disgusting attack in Grimsby.'

The Mail have some quite horrifying photos but somehow I doubt that the judge will give a tough enough sentence.

Elsewhere on the web - Post of the Day 2 - Utopia?

Anna Raccoon tells the tale of Utopia, Villeneuve in Grenoble, which is now anything but utopian. Here's an extended extract but do go and read the whole article:

'3 weeks ago, there was an armed robbery at a Casino in a nearby town. Karim Boudouda, a 27 year old of North African descent, allegedly one of the robbers, was killed in an exchange of gun fire after he opened fire on the police.

The Maghreb ‘Mafia’ didn’t take kindly to one of their sons being killed by a police force whose legitimacy they do not recognise. The town of Villeneuve exploded in an orgy of ‘car-B-ques’ and rioting youths. During the riots, the registration numbers, addresses, and telephone numbers of some of the local riot police, were stencilled on walls all over town, accompanied by an exhortation to ‘kill them’. Evidence was posted in the town of the possession by the Maghreb youth of a rocket launcher.

The police were forced to withdraw all the resident police, their wives and children, and replace them with elite CRS police from other departments, so seriously was the threat taken. The police station was surrounded by sandbags and barbed wire. Patrolling police wore ‘Robocop’ type headgear to protect their identity. Helicopters constantly patrol overhead. It is more like a warzone than a French city.

Only one of the suspects came from Villeneuve, the other hailed from the notorious suburb of Saint-Denis in Paris. Residents there were awoken at 2am by the sound of automatic gunfire thudding into the walls of their apartments – not the police trying to arrest someone, but fired from cars in the street in an effort to impress the neighbourhood that it was the drug dealers who controlled these streets, not the police.'

Sounds pleasant? Did you notice any coverage on the BBC of these riots so close to us? No, the BBC have to concentrate on villyfying Israel, attacking the Conservatives, promoting the global warming agenda and reporting every twist and turn of Naomi Campbell's evidence.

This great social experiment in France seems dead, how long before the larger social experiment in the UK falls apart? 30 years, 20 years, 10 years or sooner?

Sunday catchup (part 2)

1. Guyism report the case of 'Joe Sugarman, a man who was kicked out of his United Airlines plane for asking “Are you serving any meals during our flight?” is beyond absurd.' Here's Joe's story in his own words from his site:

'I get to the airport, boarded my plane and I’m sitting in first class. The flight attendant was right in front of me and was curious if they were going to serve meals onboard. So I asked her, “Are you serving any meals during our flight?”

She looked at me kinda funny and said, “I can’t answer that for security reasons.”

A little puzzled, I wondered how it affected security but I let it pass as she went into the cockpit. About three minutes later, two armed Austin police officers boarded the plane, looked at me and said, “Sugarman, follow us.”'

Apparently 'Sugarman was informed afterwards that the reason he was deboarded as because the flight attendant thought he said “Are there any police on this flight?”' Hmmm seems like a over-reaction form a maybe tetchy air-stewardess to me.


2. The Mail reports the less than shocking news that : 'KGB did bug Profumo and Keeler pillow talk to steal nuclear secrets.'


3. The Telegraph reports the slightly more surprising news that:

'Lynn Barber, the journalist whose teenage relationship was turned into the film An Education, has admitted to sleeping with about 50 men during two terms at Oxford. '

50 in roughly 16 weeks is around 3 a week, pretty good going...


4. The Mail reports the case of

'Three teenagers have been found guilty of subjecting a young woman with learning difficulties to three days of sadistic physical and sexual torture.

Darren Hodgkinson, 18, and girls Chelsea Mills, 16, and Chelsea Williams, 14, bruised their victim so severely that people thought she was black.

Nail varnish and cream were rubbed into the woman's hair, which was then shaved off along with her eyebrows.

She was stripped and sexually humiliated before being imprisoned in a wardrobe, and Hodgkinson burned her hands and face with a lighter.'

Horrific crimes I think you will agree and the punishments handed down by the court? Pathetic - '

ringleader Hodgkinson was jailed at Southampton Crown Court for a minimum of four years. Mills was given a two-year detention and training order, and Williams was given an 18-month detention and training order.'

Why so light, were there extenuating circumstances, did the judge have good reasons? It seems not:

'Judge Peter Ralls said: 'This poor woman may never recover from the psychological damage. You picked on her because she was odd and for no motivation other than to satisfy some depraved wish to cause harm.''

If the crimes were that serious why the short sentences?



5. The Mail reports the possible ending of the tyranny of the speed camera - about bloody time too. But I will wait and see before I get too excited, there are too many lefty councils who love to milk and punish the motorist.

What has happened to the youth of this country?

Anna Raccoon has the story of some children who seem to bear no resemblance to how I was in the early 1970s.

'An Asian shop keeper in Kirkaldy was arranging his new magazines on his shelves when a group of schoolboys came into the shop. Some of the out of date magazines were in a pile on the floor to make way for new stock. They included some rather risqué titles. Bollywood Babes, Asian Titties, Mustapha-Ouank, you know the sort of thing. A magnet for adolescent boys the world over.

Distract the shop keeper, shove a few magazines in your pocket, and run like hell for the back of the bike sheds where you can put them to good use and while away an hour or so?

Not a bit of it.

These boys hot footed it straight to Fife to the offices of the ‘Front Page Campaign’ where they reported that the shop keeper was currently failing to keep these titles on the top shelf contrary to the Indecent Displays (Control) Act 1981. They knew their rights.

Amy King, who fronts the ‘Front Page Campaign’, beetled round to the police at Kirkaldy.

Since she wasn’t reporting a burglary in her house, or a bank robbery or anything like that, they dropped everything and rushed back to the shop where the shop keeper was still innocently arranging his stock. They were that quick off the mark.

Which is how Saeed Ahmed came to be the first person in ten years to be prosecuted under this Act – and fined £53.'

I am disgusted, back in the 1970s young boys would have to learn which newsagents would sell such educational magazines to under 18s and which second hand book and magazine shops had some small stock of such magazines. I even remember boys retrieving such periodicals from train tracks, such was their thirst for knowledge. What has happened to the youth of this country?

Labour Britain

Rantin' Rab brought The Scheme to my attention and I have mixed feelings, fascinating and depressing in turns. Here's Rantin Rab:

'Of course, a whole industry has sprung up around these people. Legal or otherwise. Hundreds of thousands are employed up and down the land to support families and individuals who choose to live like Marvin and the Cunningham family.

The programme should be compulsory viewing for all politicians. It should also be mandatory viewing for the bleeding hearts in the support industry, the bleeding hearts that paint them all as victims.'

Sufficient punishment?

The Mail report something that, if true, is a bloody disgrace:

'Two thugs who left a father-of-two permanently brain damaged after subjecting him to a 'brutal and unprovoked' attack because they wrongly branded him a paedophile have been jailed.

The sickening assault on Filipe Nunes David by the youths, who had been drinking and taking drugs, saw him beaten around the head with a wooden plank and left covered in blood on the pavement.

Mr David needed life-saving emergency surgery which resulted in him having part of his brain removed. He now needs help washing, dressing and eating and no longer recognises members of his family.

Kingston Crown Court heard how Brett Carslake, aged 20, was joined by 17-year-olds Jamie Bailey and Frank Miller as they ambushed their innocent victim.

Eyewitnesses told how the young men surrounded Mr David 40, a Portuguese national, and were heard to shout: 'Come on - let's get him.'

After beating him with a plank of wood they were then heard to scream: 'We've done it. We've beaten the paedophile!'

The Daily Mail today learned from a senior Surrey police source that the deluded youngsters had convinced themselves Mr David had a paedophile past which was simply not true.

'This was a completely innocent man who was targeted by these men. He did not have a single stain on his character but these three thought he had,' explained a police source.

Carslake, from Epsom, Surrey, was given an indeterminate sentence with a minimum of five years after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm. He was also told he will remain on licence for life.

Bailey, from Ewell, Surrey, was given a five-year term for beating Mr David with a plank of wood but could be eligible for parole in two and a half years.

Miller, from Epsom, Surrey, did not hit the victim but forced him from his bike and must complete a two-year supervision programme after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm.'

Five years for beating a man insensible with a plank of wood, five years for ruining a man's life, five bloody years! Oh sorry, he could be eligible for parole in 2½ year; bloody marvellous - who thinks that is an adequate sentence?

Two years supervision for forcing the man from his bike and watching the others attack. No custodial sentence at all?

21st Century Britain

Read this and despair:

"A teenager was tied to a tree and forced to drink petrol before being doused in the liquid and set alight by two love rivals.

Simon Everitt, 17, was bundled into the boot of a car and driven to secluded woodland where he was lynched by Jimi-Lee Stewart, 24, and Jonathan Clarke, 19.

All three men had been sleeping with the same married woman, 19-year-old brunette Fiona Lysaght, who, a court heard, had 'played the boys off against each other'.

During a period of a few months she slept with all three of them, sometimes 'cheating on one with another', causing tensions to boil.

Stewart and Clarke, who are now 25 and 20 respectively, were yesterday convicted of murder.

During the four-week trial, the jury heard the slaying was inspired by the spoof British horror movie Severance, in which a woman is bound to a tree and turned into a human torch.

An accomplice, Maria Chandler, 40, who drove the men to the murder scene in Mautby, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, was also found guilty of murder.
Jimmy-Lee Stewart, found guilty of murdering Simon Everitt who was doused in petrol and set alight
Jonathan Clarke found guilty of murdering Simon Everitt by pouring petrol over him and setting him alight."

Inhuman cruel scum

Part of an occasional series exposing the scum that infest this Country. This time it's the story of the "Drunken teenager who smashed pet tortoise to pieces with a baseball bat". What a lovely image, here's the details:

"A drunk teenager smashed a tortoise to pieces with a baseball bat, a court heard.

Daniel Winspear smashed the defenceless creature in a sickening attack at a house party.

The 18-year-old was found in the conservatory still holding the bat, by the dismembered tortoise after party-goers heard noises in the early hours.

Tests proved the pet did not die straight away. "

Words fail me and the news that

"Winspear was warned he could face jail after admitting to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal when he appeared before Hartlepool Magistrates' Court."

does not inspire me with confidence. If he goes to jail it will be for only a very short time and he will no doubt be provided with a television, PS3, etc. etc. etc.

What do you think his punishment should be, should he be found guilty?

Too much to post, not enough time (week 2)

It looks as though this sort of post may become a regular item. There is so much of interest that I want to post but I do, contrary to popular opinion, have a life.

So for today:

1) Peter Oborne writes that "This is a Government in collapse" and notes that "Ms Smith has still not sued me after I accused her last week of thievery: does her failure to do so amount to an admission of guilt?)"

2) The Mail reports that the BNP have just had a Councillor elected in a district council by-election in Sevenoaks, Kent. It is important to note that whilst the town is a Tory stronghold at Westminster it is a formerly strong Labour seat that the BNP have taken. The BNP are more likely to take votes in white Labour voting working class areas than elsewhere and Labour know it; hence the occasional dog-whistle policies on race issues being proposed by Labour at the moment. Labour don't mean it and the public know it, and they will continue to suffer at the polls.

More on UK feral youth

The Mail reports that:

"Shocked and huddled together for safety, these puppies are lucky to be alive after being saved from an act of almost unbelievable barbarity.

A gang of youths had seized the seven-week-old brother and sister and were slowly roasting them over a bonfire on a canal bank.

The commotion attracted a walker who ran over to the bonfire and ordered the gang to release them immediately.

Melanie Johnson, 32, said: 'I just could not believe the cruelty being shown by these kids. If I hadn't turned up, I think they would have burned the dogs alive.'

Miss Johnson, from Rochdale, added: 'Most of the kids were aged 12, 13 or older. But some were as young as ten. I was ripping mad and still am to think that anyone - least of all children - could do this.'

She took the two puppies from the bank and carried them to the safety of her home before wrapping them in a towel and taking them to an RSPCA shelter. "

And of course "No arrests have been made in connection with the incident."
Too hard to track them down? Too hard to solve a vile crime is it? Is it easier to set-up a speedtrap and sit eating doughnuts whilst working?

12 years of Labour misrule and even longer of namby-pamby attitudes to crime and punishment have led to a country that in the last two days has seen:

1. A nun mugged in broad daylight: "An elderly nun dressed in her full habit was mugged in broad daylight.

Sister Lorna, 72, was just yards from the door of her convent when a thief ran up behind her and grabbed her handbag.

The mugger got away with only an umbrella and a bus timetable because his victim had hidden her purse – containing £12 for a church collection – in her habit."

She said - "I suppose it's a sign of the times that even nuns are not safe."


2. Statistics obtained by Chris Grayling show that there were 3,868,000 complaints of aggression, yobbishness and intimidation in England and Wales last year. Of course the real figure could be as higher, because so few people actually tell police when incidents occur. The British Crime Survey found nearly three-quarters of people who experience anti-social behaviour do not report it to the police. So on that basis the real figure could be over 12 million incidents.


This is what a lack of discipline at home, at school and in wider society has wrought. Children need boundaries and they need to know that if they do wrong then they will be punished. Children today grow up in an environment where they know they can do and act as they want without retribution. They have no respect for rules or laws, for the police, their parent(s) and especially not for teachers.

I think it is too late to get this country back on track, we have too many feral youths breeding yet another generation of feral youths. Time to leave the UK I think.
