Afghan refugees in Pakistan forced to leave the country in response to get-tough measures

The LA Times reports:

'Pakistan has announced that the 1.5 million registered Afghan refugees in the country must leave by Dec. 31 as part of get-tough measures to combat terrorism, fueling fresh fear and uncertainty among families who have spent almost their entire lives in their adopted country.

An estimated 1 million other Afghan refugees are in Pakistan without papers and facing expulsion. Provincial police say that 8,000 Afghans in the country illegally have been arrested in the last three months.

In practice, Afghans cannot gain citizenship in Pakistan; they are only given Proof of Registration cards. Pakistan says those cards will expire at the end of the year.'

Something that you won't hear be reported by the institutionally pro-Pakistan and Islam BBC.

Pakistan occupies top slot in Google's list of most porn-searching countries per The Times of India

The Times of India reports that:

'Pakistan tops the list of most porn-searching countries and leads the way in porn searches for animals like pigs, donkeys, dogs, cats and snakes, according to the data released by Google.

The data also showed that six of the top eight porn-searching countries were Muslim states with Egypt ranking second in the list followed by Iran, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Turkey at numbers four, five, seven and eight, respectively, reported The Express Tribune.'

Birmingham's first Islamic school 'spent £1m of public money on school in Pakistan' per Education News in The Independent

'Council officials in Birmingham are investigating claims that a trust running the city's first-ever Islamic school spent £1 million of public money funding a new school in Pakistan.

The allegations concern the Al-Hijrah school, a voluntary-aided state funded school for four to 18-year-olds which was set up in 1999 and run by a trust.

The school was at the centre of controversy earlier this year when it was placed in special measures after an inspection by education standards watchdog Ofsted declared it to be "inadequate".

An interim board was appointed by Birmingham City Council to run the school after the entire governing body was sacked after it was revealed its budget was £900,000 in the red.  It was initially refused entry to the school by the previous regime running it but has now taken over.

Now it is understood the council is investigating claims that the Trust used public money to help fund a new £1 million boys' only boarding school in the city of Ziarat in Pakistan at a time when the school in Birmingham was in dire need of improvement.

According to the minutes of its meeting in September, it discovered: 14 members of staff were without contracts, seven were still working there even though their contracts had expired and 29 had not had Criminal Record Bureau checks.

"There are a number of teachers with no teacher reference number but receiving qualified teacher salary," they add.'

Another Muslim, this time a Pakistani cricketer, seems to be 'misunderstanding' the Religion of Peace and Tolerance. Ahmed Shehzad was caught saying rather worrying things to the Sri Lanka cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan:

"If you are a non-Muslim and you turn Muslim, no matter whatever you do in your life, straight to heaven."

Following Dilshan's inaudible reply, he added: "Then be ready for the fire."

In 1947, when India split from Pakistan, millions of people were forced to leave their homes because of inter-religious violence.

Muslims trekked to Pakistan and Hindus travelled to India.'

Nobody at the BBC seems to see the parallels between what happened in India and Pakistan in 1947 and what should have happened in Israel in 1948. In 1922 Jordan was created as yet another home for Arabs and on 70% of the land previously promised to Israel. So if at almost the same time as in India, rather than try and create yet another Arab country, the international community had moved those Muslim Arabs, who didn't want to live in a predominantly Jewish state, to the state that had been setup for them 25 years previously, how much future bloodshed would have been avoided? 

In India and Pakistan millions of people moved many hundreds of miles, yet no refugee camps existed by the late 1950s. Yet because Muslim Arab nations use the Palestinians as a weapon against the existence of a majority Jewish state on 'Muslim land', Palestinians still live to this day in refugee camps in Jordan and The Lebanon.

By way of contrast, the 858,000 Jews who had to flee Muslim countries across the Middle East and North Africa 1948-1950  were integrated into Israeli society very quickly. There were more Jewish refugees than Palestinian but the Jewish ones became Israeli citizens whilst the Palestinians were refused citizenship of Jordan the country created for them 25 years previously.

It's strange how the BBC never report this history, I suppose it doesn't fit their anti Israel narrative.

However the little pro-Pakistan elves at the BBC have put another anti-India story on the front page in its place. Yes the story from India is really terrible but the BBC's news priorities do shine through, see how they report the two stories below...

The BBC manage to report the news that 'Former prime minister Gordon Brown has announced that "child marriage-free zones" are to be set up in Pakistan.' without mentioning why there is child marriage in Pakistan. 

For a moment I thought that the BBC had mentioned Islam but that was only in the name of the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.

At UN, Pakistan Praises Saudi Arabia for Protecting “Women’s Rights” | FrontPage Magazine

'As the UN Human Rights Council scrutinized Saudi Arabia's domestic rights record this morning… out of 95 countries who took the floor, 82 praised Saudi Arabia.

Hillel Neuer, executive director of the Geneva-based human rights group UN Watch, said the country is poised to win a seat on the Human Rights Council.

"A country whose legal system routinely lashes women rape victims rather than punish the perpetrators should not have been praised effusively by members of the UN's top human rights body," said Neuer. "Instead the world should have addressed the Saudi regime's use of cruel, inhuman and degrading punishments, such as flogging, amputations and eye-gouging."'

Mauritania, VP of the UNHRC (and a country that practices slavery): “We commend Saudi Arabia for always seeking to strengthen human rights…We commend Saudi Arabia in terms of the progress on guaranteeing fundamental rights and freedoms, socioeconomic progress, participation of women at all levels and participation in society.

China: “We appreciate efforts made to protect the rights of children and to have dialogues of religious tolerance…”

Pakistan: Commended “laudable steps taken by Saudi Arabia to promote and protect the rights of children and women…”

So according to China, Saudi Arabia which arrests Christians for praying, practises religious tolerance.

So according to Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, and the slavers of Mauritania, the Saudis excel at human rights.

So according to Pakistan, a country where raping women is endemic, Saudi Arabia, which won’t let women drive or leave the house, is also breaking new ground in protecting women’s rights.

Satire is dead, what other conclusion is there.

BBC News pro-Pakistani bias again

There's a peculiar sentence in a BBC report on the upcoming talks between India and Pakistan.

'Delhi has also blamed Pakistan-based militants for the deadly attacks in Mumbai in 2008, urging Islamabad to punish the perpetrators.'

Two points, first Delhi has not blamed Pakistan-based militants, they have blamed Pakistan-based terrorists for the Mumbai attacks. Second the BBC's report makes it sound as though there was doubt as to whether the terrorists were from Pakistan, is that the case, I thought it had been determined beyond doubt that Lashkar-e-Taibar was responsible, indeed the only terrorist captured alive admitted this.

In fact there is much evidence linking the attack to Pakistan's ISI (Pakistan's premier intelligence agency) whose involvement with Islamist terrorist groups including Al Qaeda is well documented.

The trouble with the BBC is that they are not an impartial news reporting organisation. In the Indian subcontinent, as elsewhere in the world, the BBC take sides in disputes. In this instance the BBC is firmly pro-Pakistan and anti-India. This stance can be explained first by the BBC's love of anything Islamic and second by the BBC's large number of staff who are of Pakistani-heritage.

Real ethnic cleansing

'Last Sunday, September 22, in Peshawar, Pakistan, Islamic suicide bombers entered the All Saints Church compound right after Sunday mass and blew themselves up in the midst of some 550 congregants, killing, according to the latest count, nearly 90 worshippers, including many Sunday school children, women, and choir members, and injuring at least another 120.

The now destroyed Protestant church was built in Peshawar some 130 years ago. The Taliban claimed the attacks.

According to Margrette, a parishioner who survived (though her sister's status was unknown), "I heard two explosions. People started to run. Human remains were strewn all over the church."

Armed attacks on churches are hardly uncommon in Pakistan, even though Christians are less than 2 percent of the population, while Muslims are 97 percent. In 2001, Islamic gunmen stormed St. Dominic's Protestant Church, opening fire on the congregants and killing at least 16 worshippers; most women and children. Last Christmas, "when Christian worshipers were coming out of different Churches after performing Christmas prayers, more than one hundred Muslim extremists equipped with automatic rifles, pistols and sticks attacked the Christian women, children and men."
The attack came in response to fatwas condemning Christmas celebrations.

As for Muslim mob violence (as opposed to preplanned terrorist strikes) this is a common fixture that regularly flares up against Pakistan's Christians and other minorities, most often in the context of "blasphemy," that is, offending Islam or its prophet. A few months ago, in March, because one Christian was accused of blasphemy, some 3,000 Muslims attacked the Christian Joseph Colony of Lahore, burning two churches  and 160 Christian homes.

According to one Christian eyewitness, "The police was doing what it does best -- nothing! Their bias towards Christians is quite evident, because when the Muslims were raiding our church and property, they just watched, but when we confronted them, they started hitting us with batons and used live ammunition to deter us." '

What Islamists are doing to the tiny Christian population in Pakistan is disgusting. But what's worse is the way that politicians and the media in the West is minimising coverage of the story. It is truly vile that the BBC obsess over the way Israel treats Palestinians and over a supposed rape problem in India whilst giving Pakistan a pretty easy ride.

Interestingly Israel is the only Jewish State in the world, albeit one with a 25% non Jewish population and India is a predominantly Hindu country, albeit one with a 20% non Hindu population. In both countries by far the largest second religion is Islam. Meanwhile in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is 97% Muslim.

How the BBC can attack the supposed mistreatment of religious minorities in Israel and India whilst ignoring the ethnic cleansing of non Muslims that has happened and continues in Pakistan would be a mystery were it not for the massive number of people of Pakistani-heritage working at the BBC.

Don't expect any reporting of this on BBC who try to find fault with India as much as possible whilst protecting Pakistan from criticism. The BBC's Asian services full of people of Pakistani descent. Also Pakistan is Islamic state and therefore beyond criticism at pro Islamic BBC.

PAKISTAN Lahore, more than 100 Christian homes burned over blasphemy charge - Asia News

More religious intolerance in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

'This morning, an angry mob set fire to over 100 homes in the Joseph Colony Christian settlement, near Badami Bah (Lahore). Residents were forced to flee and at least 35 people were injured. The attack resulted from an accusation of blasphemy registered against one of the settlement residents, Sawan Masih, who yesterday afternoon had an altercation with a Muslim.'

A "way of getting rid of Christians"

The religion of peace again. Even the BBC cannot avoid but report

'A Pakistani imam has been remanded in custody, accused by his deputy of planting pages of the Koran among burnt pages in the bag of a Christian girl held for blasphemy.

The girl was detained two weeks ago near the capital Islamabad after an angry mob demanded she be punished. Imam Khalid Chishti allegedly told a witness that this was a "way of getting rid of Christians", a prosecutor said.

The girl, named as Rimsha, is said to be about 14 and to have learning difficulties.'

'Rimsha Misah has been held at a high-security prison for more than a fortnight after being arrested in a Christian enclave outside Islamabad. She is accused of burning pages of a religious text, a crime punishable with death.

Now her supporters say she could be freed as soon as Monday.

They say she has Down’s syndrome and is the victim of a long-running vendetta carried out by Muslims who want the Christian community to leave their homes.

They appeared to be vindicated on Sunday, when Hafiz Mohammed Khalid Chishti, imam of a nearby mosque was presented before court to be charged with desecrating a Koran by adding pages to charred rubbish collected from Rimsha.

He was detained in a raid late on Saturday night after worshippers at his mosque came forward to say he had been seen tampering with evidence

“He was arrested after his deputy Maulvi Zubair and two others told a magistrate he added pages from the Koran to the burnt pages brought to him by a witness,” said Munir Hussain Jaffri, a police investigator.

The details offer the chance for Pakistan to draw a line under a seemingly intractable saga that has exposed its violent religious divide.

At the same time, however, hardliners have warned of a conspiracy and question why it has taken so long for the new witness to come forward.

Rao Abdur Raheem, a lawyer for the man who made the original accusation, accused the authorities of interfering in the case.

“They are pressurising the complainants and witnesses to facilitate the bail of Rimsha,” he told the court.
Rimsha has so far been refused bail and is being held in the notorious Adiala jail.

A medical report last week said Rimsha appeared to be 14 years old, which would make her a minor, and had a mental age below her true age, and therefore eligible for bail but the court has yet to decide whether to accept the assessment.

Tahir Naveed Chaudhry, her defence lawyer, said the revelation would bolster efforts to free Rimsha at a bail hearing today(MON). He added that no-one had managed to explain how her accusers had managed to see inside the bag she was carrying and spot burned pages of Koranic verse.

“From the first moment we believed the accusation was false and fabricated,” he said.

“The imam himself has admitted trying to drive Christians away from the area.” Rimsha’s home neighbourhood has been the scene of a long-running religious dispute, with Muslims angered by noisy hymns sounding from a church.

Muslims say they have come under intense police pressure to withdraw the original blasphemy allegation, following an international outcry.

The Vatican, democracy movements and Western governments have all expressed concern about the case.

Human rights groups believe Pakistan’s strict blasphemy laws are being abused to target religious minorities or settle personal scores.

The issue is hugely sensitive in Pakistan, where 97 percent of the 180 million population are Muslims, and allegations of insulting Islam or the Prophet Mohammed often prompt a furious public reaction.

Last year, two high-profile campaigners for reform of the law were assassinated and judges are fearful of appearing lenient.'

Pakistan is an Islamic state and one where the few Christians and Hindus left living there are increasingly at risk of persection and indeed death.

Anjem Choudary launched a new campaign today - Shariah4hind and apart from a welcome use of the word 'verily' it was rather a sad affair. Apart from claiming that Islam was the 'oldest religion on the earth' a claim that is demonstrably wrong and a claim that I did tweet a couple of replies to but I think Anjem Choudary may have blocked me; Anjem Choudary seems a tad reluctant to listen to the truth. It is odd that he doesn't block those who tweet insults and Islamophobic venom but does block someone who tweets logic and the truth.

and it something that I have mentioned before on this blog. India was partitioned and the part that was made into Pakistan is now almost 100% Islamic whilst India is a pluralistic democracy. The parallels between India and Israel just become more obvious by the day.
