'Radical preacher Abu Qatada has been arrested for allegedly breaching his bail conditions, days ahead of the Government's latest deportation bid in court.

UK Border Agency officials arrested Qatada on Friday, following raids by the Metropolitan Police Service Counter Terrorism unit.'

BBC at it again

I know I have mentioned before the BBC's habit of giving a Labour spokesman airtime on the 7pm Radio 4 news. Tonight they did it again. The item about the returning of Abu Quatada to Jordan was the excuse for retelling Yvette Cooper's claims that this decision had taken too long - indeed it had but only thanks to the signing up by her party when in government to the European Human Rights Act. This was followed by a nice long soundbite not from the Home Secretary, a Conservative, but her Labour shadow.

Maybe the BBC should consider which party/parties are in power and making decisions rather than who the BBC would prefer to be in power.

Who do the BBC think is more dangerous  - Abu Qatada or Eric Pickles? An odd question you might think but read this from The Telegraph:

'The BBC has told its journalists not to call Abu Qatada, the al-Qaeda preacher, an “extremist”.

In order to avoid making a “value judgment”, the corporation’s managers have ruled that he can only be described as “radical”.

Journalists were also cautioned against using images suggesting the preacher is overweight. '

So the BBC have decided that they can not make a "value judgement" about a man whose preachings have been an indirect cause of the death of thousands in the Arabian peninsular and beyond and whose views are at best described as dangerous to our western culture. Abu Qatada believes in the ideology of takfir, the excommunication of governments, and then by extension whole societies. This belief leads to the justification of the killing of innocent men, women and children. But the BBC think that it would be guilty of making a "value judgement" to describe someone with those bleliefs as an extremist, preferring to call him a radical. I warn the BBC now that I will look out for any references to "extremists" on their website and I will hold them to account.

Whilst that BBC decision is stupid and dangerous, it was the second part that struck me: 'Journalists were also cautioned against using images suggesting the preacher is overweight.' Why? Why is Abu Qatada's image to be protected by the BBC? Have the BBC cautioned its journalists against portraying Eric Pickles as overweight? If not, why not?

Abu Hamza has lost the latest round of his battle to avoid extradition, he now just has the option of appealing to the House of Lords left to him. If he does not appeal within the next 14 days then extradition to the US would have to follow within a further 28 days.

NotaSheep's reaction is fairly predictable: the sooner Abu Hamza is out of the UK the happier I will be. If we can then get rid of Abu Qatada and the rest of the preachers (both religious and otherwise) of hate, then I will be even happier.

Then what does this story show?

"The radical Islamist preacher Abu Qatada is to be released on bail within 24 hours, officials say.

A senior judge has signed papers authorising the release of Qatada, previously described as Osama Bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe. "

Why is this man allowed to stay in this country? Abu Qatada is a Jordanian, not as many claim a Palestinian. Abu Qatada was born in Bethlehem in 1960, at which time the West Bank was part of Jordan; there never having been a country called Palestine. He entered the UK on a forged UAE passport and requested asylum on grounds of religious persecution (how, by whom and why should we care. His book, Islamic Movements and Contemporary Alliances, which is widely cited by Sunni terrorists, argues essentially for no affiliation whatsoever between Muslim and non-Muslim countries. He wrote regularly for the al-Ansar magazine in the early 1990s, which was the official mouthpiece of the Armed Islamic Group (GIA).

Many of the facts in the above paragraph are from Wikipedia's piece on Abu Qatada. I cannot be bothered to waste my time any more describing all of the activities of this person. So here's just two:

"When questioned in the UK in February 2001, Abu Qatada was in possession of £170,000 cash, including £805 in an envelope labelled "For the Mujahedin in Chechnya". He was not charged.

Nineteen audio cassettes of Abu Qatada's sermons were found in the apartment of Mohamed Atta when it was searched after the September 11, 2001 attacks, which he led"

Do you feel safer with this man in the UK, whether or not he is under a 22 hour curfew?

Do you feel happy knowing that it is going to cost around £500,000 a year to keep this man secure?

In the same vein as the Exeter failed bombing

It is a rather sad indictment of my expectations of Labour Britain that I have not commented on the Exeter bombing of the Jewish owned Giraffe restaurant by a Muslim bomber. I will draw your attention to this article on the BBC website:

"A prisoner has pleaded guilty to making threats to blow up one of Europe's largest shopping centres with three limousines packed with explosives.

Saeed Ghafoor, 33, of Southampton, made the threat to a prison officer while at HMP Haverigg in Cumbria on 7 February.

The former English teacher appeared via video-link at the Old Bailey charged with threatening to cause criminal damage at Bluewater in Kent.

Ghafoor was in prison serving a 12-month sentence imposed by Southampton Crown Court in January for threats to kill his sister and assault.

He said: "Mr Ghafoor made the threat and it was treated seriously.

"We do not know if he could have carried it out. It was not a bomb hoax. It appeared on the face of it to be a serious threat by someone who was not happy."

He said he was protesting at the involvement of British and American troops in Afghanistan.

He was seen by the prison imam, who formed the impression that Ghafoor was susceptible to brainwashing.

After his arrest, a psychiatrist told police he had no mental disorder, said Mr Arnold.

He was remanded in custody for reports before sentencing next month."

We should not be reassured that so many of these Islamic terrorists seem to be inept, one day one of them will suceeed and just as on 7/7 many innocent people will die, many more will bear the scars and injuries for a very long time and even more will have to mourn the dead and deal with the injured. And just like after 7/7, the Labour government that caused the problem with its insane immigration "system" will spout platitudes about caring and dealing with the root causes whilst in reality doing nothing other than improving their own security and reducing the freedoms of the innocent whilst paying Osama bin Laden's "spiritual ambassador in Europe", Abu Qatada, to stay in England.
