Manchester Lad speaks about the Koran

I thought this might be of interest...
'ManchesterLad on June 29, 2015 at 9:34 pm

Good questions John. I'm not an expert but have read a few books on the subject to try and answer the same questions for myself.

Firstly, a very useful site is http://www.koran-at-a-glance.com/ this has an English translation of the Koran arranged in chronological order. The order is important because later verses essentially supercede (abrogate) earlier verses. The peaceful verses in the Koran tend to be earlier on when Mohammed had no power, and the violence dominates the later stages when he was a powerful ruler.
The ordinary Koran has the verses arranged in order of length, utterly unhelpful for anyone trying to understand what it is saying.

So yes, the violent quotes are generally accurate and they appear in the later parts of the Koran.

One other important point I'd like to make, is that the thoroughly understandable attempt to compare the Old Testament with the Koran is not really a valid comparison. The Bible is a set of accounts of events written by men, and it pretends to be nothing else. Although it describes violent events in place never does it openly incite the reader to commit similar violence.

The Koran – in complete contrast – is the direct word of Allah. It cannot be questioned and is not an interpretation of Allah's actions. It contains numerous direct commands to followers of Islam to commit beheadings, to hate, to despise non-believers etc.

A 'good' Muslim is ordered and required to act with extreme violence towards non-believers. These orders come directly from Allah.

So if someone uses the Bible to justify killing they are using their own interpretation, one which would not be shared by many people.

Someone following direct instructions from Allah could kill an infidel and no-one can seriously argue they are not following the religion precisely. A Muslim who does not despise non-believers (for example) would technically be an apostate and could be killed by a good Muslim at any time.

A good introduction to Islam can be read in 'a self-study course on political Islam', on Kindle for about £2. I found that quite a good read.I hope this was helpful.'

Walmart Refused to Make a Confederate Flag Cake, But an ISIS Flag Cake is no problem Top Right News

'One customer wanted Walmart to make him a Confederate flag-themed cake.
He was flat out rejected.

So the customer, Chuck Netzhammer, decided that he would make a much more controversial request.

He asked Walmart to make him a cake with the ISIS terrorist flag on it.

Yeah, the same ISIS that is beheading Christians, burning captured soldiers alive, selling little girls into slavery, and waging a terrorist war against the United States and the West.

Netzhammer documented their response on video... '

Palestinian striker in Israel to be freed per BBC News

BBC have to apologise to Grant

'The BBC has written a grovelling letter of apology to Grant Shapps for its unbalanced coverage of the ex-Tory party chairman during the election.

Director of News James Harding admits the Beeb made the wrong call over the amount of airtime given to allegations in a left-wing newspaper that Shapps edited his own Wikipedia page as well as those of Cabinet colleagues.

Shapps was subsequently demoted and the story turned out to be false.

Wiki investigated the allegations, only to find no evidence to support the claims first aired by a Lib Dem activist.

Shapps finally complained to the BBC after they all but ignored that crucial development having gone to town on the original story, and now Harding has said sorry.

"We covered it, but apologised for not doing as much on it as he, or we, would have liked," says a BBC spokesman, adding that they had "not apologised for our election coverage".

A Shapps ally says: "Too little too late."The case for abolishing the licence fee and cutting down the BBC's vast, bloated bureaucracy is stronger than ever."'

Now why would the BBC go to town on a story that would show a senior Conservative politician in a bad light? Beats me, it's not as though the BBC acts as the Labour Party's media arm and attack dog.

Greek debt crisis: Banks to stay shut, capital controls imposed per BBC News

'Greek banks are to remain closed and capital controls will be imposed, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras says.

Speaking after the European Central Bank (ECB) said it was not increasing emergency funding to Greek banks, Mr Tsipras said Greek deposits were safe.

Greece is due to make a €1.6bn (£1.1bn) payment to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday - the same day that its current bailout expires.

Greece risks default and moving closer to a possible exit from the eurozone.

Greeks have been queuing to withdraw money from cash machines over the weekend.
Mr Tsipras did not give details of how long banks would stay shut, or exactly what controls on capital would be imposed.'
Safe? Really? I would say that the shit was just about to hit the fan.

'Religion of peace' is not a harmless platitude per Spectator Blogs

The most recent Islamist terrorist attacks across the world have left me profoundly depressed and scared for the future of the civilised West.

Whilst I ponder my future plans, which may well take me a long way away from Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, have a read of the whole of Douglas Murray's piece for The Spectator - http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/coffeehouse/2015/06/religion-of-peace-is-not-a-harmless-platitude/
Here's an extract:
'... Because the truth is there for all to see. To claim that people who punish people by killing them for blaspheming Islam while shouting 'Allah is greatest' has 'nothing to do with Islam' is madness. Because the violence of the Islamists is, truthfully, only to do with Islam: the worst version of Islam, certainly, but Islam nonetheless.'
Do read the whole article and think about that which it raises.

Average speed cameras to blight the life of many Londoners

One of my early pieces on this blog was about the new cameras appearing on the A406 that I thought could become average speed cameras. They didn't but anyone travelling along some of London's main roads will have noticed new gantries and cameras appearing. These are for a new average speed camera system that will soon infest four trial sites and then no doubt spread their revenue raising way across the capital.

The first four road sections to be blighted are the A406 (North Circular Road) from the Hanger Lane Gyratory to Bounds Green Road; the A40 from the Polish War Memorial to the Paddington slip road, the A2 from Black Prince to Tunnel Avenue and the A316 from the M3 to the Hogarth roundabout.

The claim from Transport for London (TfL) is that these are to eradicate accidents at gaps between existing, but obsolete spot speed cameras. But the reality is that they are to a) raise revenue and b) victimise drivers who realise that the 40mph speed limit on most of these roads is set far too low for the quality of the roads.

A report to TfL’s finance policy committee, which approved the spending on the trial, said members had “concerns about the public acceptability” of the new cameras.I bet they have.

In France there would be riots, I'm not suggesting that we go down that route but the motorist needs to fight back somehow. Any suggestions?

I favour a drive slow when 20 motorists in each direction on each section on the same day all drive at 4mph preceded by a man with a red flag, for that is what  the anti-car zealots would like us to return to, after all it would reduce traffic accidents for as well know, 'Speed Kills'. Except it doesn't...

This is of course rubbish as I pointed out over seven years ago
"A DfT strategy paper claimed speed was "a major contributory factor in about a third of all road accidents". The "excessive and inappropriate speed" that helped "to kill about 1,200 people" each year was "far more than any other single contributor to casualties on our roads". The source given for this claim, to be repeated as a mantra by ministers and officials for years to come, was a report from the government's Transport Research Laboratory, TRL Report 323: "A new system for recording contributory factors in road accidents". Not many people would have looked at this report, since it was only available for £45. But some who did were amazed. The evidence the report had cited to support its claim that speed was "a major contributory factor in about a third of all road accidents" simply wasn't there. Many other factors were named as contributing to road accidents, from driving without due care and attention to the influence of drink; from poor overtaking to nodding off at the wheel. But the figure given for accidents in which the main causative factor was "excessive speed" was way down the list, at only 7.3 per cent."
Do read the whole of that piece but this extract might also prove interesting:
"The statistics for Durham showed that, of 1,900 collisions each year, only three per cent involved cars that were exceeding the speed limit, just 60 accidents a year. Look more closely at the causes of these 60 accidents, the "actual cause of the accident invariably is drink-driving or drug-driving". Drug-taking was now involved in 40 per cent of Durham's fatal road accidents. Many accidents, he said, were caused by fatigue, although one of the most common causes was the failure of drivers to watch out for oncoming vehicles when turning right. To none of these could speed cameras offer any remedy. "The cause of accidents," Garvin (chief constable of Durham) concluded, "is clearly something different from exceeding the speed limit"."

Also
"In September 2006, the DfT finally conceded one of the central points that Safe Speed's Paul Smith had been arguing for five years: that only five per cent of road accidents were caused by drivers who were breaking the speed limit. In The Daily Telegraph, Smith was quoted as saying "the government's case for continuing to install cameras has been destroyed"."
So the truth is that speed cameras do not make the roads safer, are not needed and are being used to raise revenue - who would have thought it?

How Are We Financing the Suffering of the Palestinians? Or the difference between Palestinian refugees and all other refugees

The truth about the 'Palestinian refugees' that the United Nations and the BBC really would rather you didn't know.

ISIS in Jerusalem, Threatens Christians

You'll not find this reported by the institutionally anti Israel BBC for whom an Israeli death at the hands of Palestinians is not worth reporting, for whom no Palestinian Pallywood lie is too outlandish to repeat.

ISIS explicitly threatened to kill the Christians if they don't leave eastern Jerusalem by the end of Ramadan.'

West Midlands Police withheld report revealing how Muslim gangs groomed girls per Daily Mail Online

Here's an excerpt:
'Britain's second largest police force withheld a report about gangs of Muslim men grooming children in case it inflamed racial tensions ahead of a General Election, it was revealed today.

West Midlands Police were warned more than 100 predominantly white children - some as young as 13 - were at serious risk of child exploitation five years ago.

A document entitled 'Problem Profile, Operation Protection' from March 2010 reveals Asian gangs targeted schools and children's homes across the force area.

The report, written for senior officers, also reveals how white girls were used to recruit other vulnerable victims on behalf of the gangs.

But there were fears over a row ahead of the May 2010 General Election and an English Defence League rally in April leading to a 'backlash against law abiding citizens from Asian/Pakistani communities'.
Despite the warnings police did not warn the public or appeal for information about the men responsible and the report was only published this week under the Freedom of Information Act.

In one heavily redacted passage, the document reads: 'In (redacted) a teacher at a (redacted) that a group of Asian males were approaching pupils at the school gate and grooming them. Strong anecdotal evidence shows this MO (modus operandi) is being used across the force.'
This is what the British police have become, and it's not pretty is it?

Palestinians Beat Israeli Farmer to Death

The BBC faithfully and eagerly report every made up news story of Palestinian farmers having their olive trees destroyed by Israeli settlers, even when there's no corroborating evidence. However when a Jewish Israeli is killed by Palestinians, they will have no interest in reporting the news.
It's almost as though the BBC is institutionally anti Israel.

The real reason Greece has a massive tax-evasion problem

UK Business Insider has a great insight that the BBC will never me mention:

'On average, self-employed Greeks spend 82% of their monthly reported income servicing debt. To put this number in perspective, the standard practice in consumer finance (in the United States as well as Greece) is to never lend to borrowers such that loan payments are greater than 30% of monthly income. And that is the upper limit ... A number of banks in southern Europe told us point blank that they have adaptation formulas to adjust clients' reported income to the bank's best estimate of true income, and furthermore, that these adjustments are specific to occupations ... Take the examples of lawyers, doctors, financial services, and accountants. In all of these occupations, the self-employed are paying over 100% of their reported income flows to debt servicing on consumer loans You read that right: More than 100% of the self-reported income of Greece's professional classes is going toward paying off consumer debts. Not, we suspect, because they have massive unbearable repayments to make, but because they're colossally underreporting their income.'

Why so desperate to reach the UK?

This BBC report says that the 'migrant' are desperate to get to the UK but doesn't really ask why. Only Keith Vaz is quoted re this angle:
'Keith Vaz, Labour chairman of the Commons Home Affairs Committee, said the migrant situation was the "biggest crisis" facing Europe.

He said migrants were trying to reach the UK because "it's the country they think they can work in illegally".'
No mention of our excessively generous benefits system?

Sickening new ISIS video shows caged prisoners lowered into a swimming pool and drowned, shot with an RPG and blown up with explosive-filled 'necklaces' per Daily Mail Online

But even more revealing of the mind set of these vile individuals is this:
'Jihadis fighting for the Islamic State have held a Koran memorizing competition in which the top prizes include a Yazidi sex slave.

The photograph of an ISIS advert, believed to come from the northern Syrian state of Hasakah recently emerged on social media.

As well as sex slaves, the advert promises cash rewards for fourth and fifth prize.

The competition is set to be held in several ISIS mosques in Syria, including the Osama bin Laden mosque.

The seven day competition is set to finish on 27 June and is being held to celebrate the Muslim festival of Ramadan.

The advert addresses ISIS militants in the Syria, congratulating the jihadis in their fight and wishing them a blessed Ramadan.'

Now that is odd...

Fatal car crash on crowd in Austrian city of Graz per BBC News

'At least three people are dead and dozens injured after a man drove his car into crowds in a square in Austria's second largest city of Graz.

The driver has been arrested, though police say there were no indications the attack was motivated by terrorism.

Part of the city was sealed off, with large numbers of ambulances and helicopters sent to the scene.

The square in Graz was hosting an event related to the Austrian Formula 1 Grand Prix, which is being held nearby. The regional governor confirmed that three people had died and 34 were injured, some seriously.'
The BBC are at pains to report that the police rule out terrorism but tell us nothing about the alleged perpetrator.

Meanwhile The Independent gives us some more information:
'A seven-year-old boy is reportedly among the three people killed in Austria by a man who ploughed his car into crowds in the country's second-largest city and then reportedly started stabbing people.
A witness told the Wiener Zeitungnewspaper that dead bodies were left lying face down in the road after the vehicle sped through streets near the the historical Herrengasse in Graz. The killing only stopped when the driver parked his battered car outside a police station.
...
The driver, identified by police as a 26-year-old Austrian man of Bosnian heritage, has been arrested. He works as a professional driver and is married with two children.

Police are not currently investigating terrorism as a motive and the suspect is believed to be suffering from mental illness.'
Now The Independent is as politically correct as the BBC so I'm not surprised that both are taking the same angle over the police's words. I don't know anything about this attack or the alleged perpetrator but Bosnia is a country where the largest demographic religion is Islam. Muslims in Israel use vehicles as weapons to kill Jewish civilians and only last year Islamic State Islamic State issued a call to Muslims in the West:
"If you are not able to find an IED or a bullet … smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him. If you are unable to do so, then burn his home, car or business. Or destroy his crops."
'... or run him over with a car

But I am sure the Austrian Police are quite correct, terrorism is not indicated here, not even as a possibility that should be investigated.

Martin Schultz: 'Britain belongs to the EU' per ITV News

It's always revealing when an EU dignitary lets the truth slip out:
'The President of the European Parliament has told ITV News that Britain should stay in the European Union - as it belongs to it.

Martin Schultz is in the UK to meet with the Prime Minister to discuss his proposals tomorrow.
Schultz said he was looking forward to hearing what Mr Cameron has to say but refused to use the term "UK relationship" with the EU.

"You cannot have a relationship with yourself. The EU is and Britain are one thing. The UK belongs to the EU."'
The UK belongs to the EU! There's the campaign slogan for the YES campaign.

BBC One - Question Time, 18/06/2015

According to the BBC the guests on tonight's Question Time are:
'... former leader of the SNP Alex Salmond MP, Conservative former shadow home secretary David Davis MP, Labour's shadow energy secretary Caroline Flint MP, editor of the Financial Times Lionel Barber and columnist Melanie Phillips.'
Two thoughts, first that it's nice to see two right of centre guests on the panel for a change. In fact maybe a majority with Lionel Barber as well. But as ever with the anti Conservative party BBC, there are reasons: Lionel Barber is the editor of the very pro the UK staying in the EU Financial Times, David Davis is very civil liberties and Melanie Phillips is forthright on Islamic extremism. All three are there to allow Tory splits (whether on the EU or Human Rights legislation) to be the story or for a right winger to be attacked (and therefore the Conservatives) for being insufficiently multi cultural sensitive.

The second thought that strikes me is why is a SNP spokesman on the panel for an English set programme? The SNP are a Scottish separatist party, surely a representative of the third biggest party in the UK by votes received in the recent general election would be more representative of the national mood.

I rarely, if ever, watch Question Time these days. Labour Party propaganda being so easy to find elsewhere on the BBC at an earlier hour.

No 10 Emails Self Destruct In Three Months - the BBC's reaction to reading this Sky News story

Imagine your a BBC newsoid and you read this article on Sky News here's what I'd imagine your thoughts would be...

'Emails sent from Downing Street computers self-destruct within three months in a system, it has been disclosed.'
Hold on, this could be big, get me Liberty on the phone.
'Under a system, which makes it more difficult for the public to get answers from Freedom of Information requests, messages vanish unless people actively save them.'
Can we get Shami Chakrabarti onto the lunch time news? Get a taxi to her immediately.
'It means the information contained in the emails is not readily accessible to the public if they ask for details about the subject matter the messages contain.'
This could be huge, can we also clear the decks for a Newsnight special investigation tonight? Kirsty could look aghast...
'The system was set up in 2004, under the Labour government, shortly before the Freedom of Information Act came into force.'
As you were, this story is of no use in furthering the BBC's anti Conservative agenda so best ignore it, the proles don't need to worry themselves about this one. Cancel that taxi!

BBC to be forced to deliver neutral EU referendum coverage as MPs watch for bias per Daily Mail Online

The Daily Mail reports that:
'The BBC may be forced to deliver impartial coverage of the European Union referendum campaign.
Backbench MPs have called for an independent 'impartiality adjudicator' that would sniff out bias by the broadcaster.

The watchdog would report all allegations of bias within 24 hours and have the power to police all output during the in-out vote campaign.'
I admire The Daily Mail for its optimism but doubt that the BBC can be tamed in this way.

The BBC is institutionally pro EU in the same way as it's institutionally pro the Labour Party, pro the US Democratic Party and institutionally anti Israel.

Simple steps 'could save NHS £5bn' per BBC News

The BBC are pained to report www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-33071066 that:
'The NHS in England could save £5bn a year with improved staff organisation and a better approach to purchasing everyday items, a review will say.

Lord Carter came to the conclusion after spending a year working with 22 hospitals on behalf of the government.

He found a wide variation in spending on items, from aprons to latex gloves.

He also identified huge inefficiencies in the way staff were managed, with one hospital losing £10,000 a month through workers claiming too much leave.'

It's that last paragraph that struck me - 'one hospital losing £10,000 a month through workers claiming too much leave.'

How can that be possible? Doesn't that hospital have any sort of holiday recording system? Or as it's public money don't they care?

Spain in the Eye of the Storm of Jihad

Thinking of holidaying in Spain or even moving there to get away from the UK?
This article might make you think again... Here's an extract:
'Counter-terrorism authorities are now warning that the Islamic State is actively looking for Spanish converts to Islam who possess gun licenses and who can legally purchase rifles and shotguns. The Islamists are especially interested in converts who have not yet taken on Muslim names and whose official IDs still have their Christian names, so that they can purchase weapons without drawing the attention of police.

At least 50,000 Muslim converts are currently living in Spain. Police say that converts are especially susceptible to radicalization because they are facing increasing pressure from Islamists who are calling on them to carry out attacks to "demonstrate their commitment" to their new faith. "Converts are the perfect breeding ground for Islamism," according to a Spanish intelligence operative.'

'This is the sixth missile attack since the ceasefire came into effect at the end of August 2014 and users of the BBC News website have not been informed about any of those attacks at the time of their occurrence.

It is time for the BBC's funding public to be told why that is the case.'
There's a simple answer, it's because the BBC is institutionally anti Israel. I believe that's part of what the Balen Report concluded and that is why the BBC are so desperate to keep the Balen Report secret.

Ipso: a great new way for bullies to muzzle the press per The Spectator

James Delingpole http://www.spectator.co.uk/columnists/james-delingpole/9546282/ipso-a-great-new-way-for-bullies-to-muzzle-the-press/ examines an unforseen (or maybe not) result of the Leveson Report, here's an extract, do read the rest:
'One of the fundamental principles of English common law is that you are innocent until proven guilty. And rightly so, for imagine how unfair it would be if any old loon with an axe to grind had only to lodge a trumped-up complaint with the relevant authorities in order to have you punished for no reason whatsoever.

Actually, though, this cruel and capricious system exists in Britain. It's called the Independent Press Standards Organisation (Ipso) and, as might be expected of the bastard offspring of the Leveson inquiry, it's doing an absolutely first-rate job of empowering bullies and curbing freedom of speech in order to assuage the spite of that small but vocal lobby of caught-red-handed luvvies, lefty agitators and failed hacks which thinks our press has got too big for its boots.'

The undoing of Ed Miliband – and how Labour lost the election by Patrick Wintour in The Guardian

This Guardian piece http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jun/03/undoing-of-ed-miliband-and-how-labour-lost-election is a must read. Especially enjoyable is the pain it reveals on election night.
However what struck me hardest was this piece following Ed Miliband 'forgetting' to mention the deficit in a key speech:
'Miliband was so distraught that he shut himself in his hotel room, where a series of people, including his wife, Justine, joined him and tried to offer some reassurance – pointing out that the omission had not featured prominently in the BBC political editor Nick Robinson's report on the Six O'Clock News.'
How helpful of the BBC to not feature this omission prominently. How helpful of a BBC that did its best to try and get a Labour government elected.

Peter Mandelson no longer despoiling British politics

In wanting to check a fact, I stumbled upon the following in Wikipedia re Peter Mandelson:
'In October 2008 he left his post as Trade Commissioner to return to UK politics. As a former EU commissioner, Lord Mandelson is entitled to a £31,000 pension when he reaches the age of 65 years. This however is contingent on a "duty of loyalty to the Communities", which applies also after his term in office. The Taxpayers' Alliance, which uncovered the threat to his pension, demanded that he should declare the conflict of interest and either relinquish his EU pay cheques or resign as a minister.
"When one considers that his new ministerial post deals specifically with business, enterprise and regulatory reform – all areas that are intimately involved with EU legislation, regulation and policy –" the group said, "the conflict of interest is even more stark." Mandelson did not agree that he had a conflict of interests. "He has always had a clear view of British interests and how they are secured by our EU membership," a spokesperson said.[50]'

You can read more about this despicable individual here http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter Mandelson but you'll need a strong stomach.

Judge Lord Burns rules that Andy Coulson has no case to answer in his perjury trial. Oddly I can't find this news on the anti Conservative BBC website.

US surveillance powers expire as Senate deal fails - BBC News are conflicted as to how to report this

This news causes the BBC problems. First they oppose this sort of surveillance but the policy is one of their hero, the Obama messiah, himself. Second the opponents who stopped this in the US Senate are mostly Republicans. Read the article and enjoy the sound of BBC squirming.
