The thin edge of the 'wedgie'

The Telegraph report that a New Yrk Judge 'has ruled that while the current fashion for wearing trousers so low that they show off underwear may be offensive it is not an offence.'

I find this 'fashion' offensive and strangely annoying but I do worry that this decision is just the thin end of the 'wedgie'.
