Is that really the last we'll see of Amy Pond in Doctor Who?
Is Karen Gillan aka Amy Pond really to grace our Saturday night television screens no more? I do seem to have posted more pieces about Amy than any other of The Doctor's companions, I wonder why... Take a look at the above link for plenty of pictures and videos but here are the highlights!

Doctor Who - The God Complex - a review
Couldn't wait for the BBC repeat so watched this online...
Not as wonderful as last week's The Girl Who Waited but still a fine episode. I will leave the shock ending for the very end of this review. The feel of the episode was very off-centre, odd camera angles, some sound distortion (or was that my PC?). The hotel's elongating and shape-changing corridors were nicely unsettling and the 'room for everyone' concept was neat. The minotaur was poorly executed, I presume the money saved by the making of this episode plus last and next week's means another end of season spectacular is on the way! The whole 'faith' aspect was oddly handled and the 'I'm a Muslim but don't panic' line struck me as peculiar.
Some questions that I think need answering: What was in The doctor's room? Was that the ringing of the cloister bell we hearrd when the Doctor had a peek and to whom did he say "Of course it’s you."? Is the Doctor's room number significant, it was 11 and Matt Smith is the eleventh Doctor? Is the way the hotel depixelated too similar to the way the robot in "Let’s Kill Hitler" depixelated just coincidental? if not does that mean that the robot's inhabitants created the hotel in attempt to capture and punish the Doctor?
The episode was shaping up to be a good one and then The Doctor says that Amy has to lose her faith in him in order to survive the Minotaur's attentions. That'll change the dynamic in the Tardis I thought; how right and yet wrong I was. The next thing I know The Doctor is saying goodbye to Amy. I don't believe that Amy thinks The Doctor is just "the mad man with a box" and somehow I think/hope that Amy and Rory will return to the programme either at the end of this series or in the next.
If this is the last we see of Amy and Rory then I feel it only fair to say that at the start of Matt Smith's Doctor I thought he and Amy were too young and Rory was just plain irritating. Since then my views have changed; Matt Smith has overtaken David Tennant and is up there with Jon Pertwee as a great Doctor - with time he may even get to the levels of Tom Baker. Amy turned into a seriously good companion, one of my favourites and Rory well he stopped being irritating and I even started to care about him.

Doctor Who - The Girl Who Waited - late review
I tweeted my appreciation of this episode immediately after watching it but note that I never got around to posting a review. This was an episode that I loved; some wonderful acting and some nice sci-fi musings but best of all very little crash-bang wallop and no River Song. The episode was quirky, funny and sad; often at the same time. Parallel time streams created a neat paradox and there was no timey-wimey solution. Yes there were some unexplained irritations such as how did the accelerated Amy Pond build a sonic screwdriver and why were the robots quite so stupid? The look of the garden was a delight, very Alice in Wonderland, the robots had a touch of i-Robot crossed with the HHGTTG film version of Marvin the Paranoid Android and the white, clean and clinical future was a touch predictable but I still lapped it all up.
Karen Gillan's acting as two Amy Ponds was a delight, even if the older Amy Pond had more than a touch of the Sarah Jane's about her. Arthur/Rory put in another great performance, I disliked him when he first appeared but am growing to appreciate what he has brought to the programme dynamic. The end scene at the Tardis door as Rory had to choose between Amy and Amy was a powerful and poignant scene and whilst the choice was predictable, the emotions it engendered in this household were real enough.
This was by far my favourite episode in this series and up there with Blink and The Doctors Wife for being great Doctor Who episodes.

Doctor Who review update
'The Rebel Flesh' and 'The Almost People'
Hmm, some good moments, loved the Flesh turning into a copy of The Doctor reprising some old catchphrases 'reverse the polarity', 'jellybaby' and the rather more confusing 'reverse the jelly baby of the neutron flow'. The anti-racism message, whilst laudable, was rather heavy-handed - "who are the real monsters" but the end of episode reveal was a real surprise. Could someone remind me when The Doctor's scanner first started vacillating over Amy's pregnancy?

Why could The Doctor not use his sonic screwdriver to escape from the locked room?
Is Amy really pregnant?
Who/what is the father?
How long has the Doctor known that Amy was not real?
Was The Doctor who gets shot in the first episode his Ganger?
