You know those signs that forbid smoking whilst using a petrol pump?

You know those signs that forbid smoking whilst using a petrol pump? Surely nobody would be so reckless as to smoke whilst filling up with petrol/diesel/gas?

Apparently not...

I doubt that this individual will do that again!

Is it just me, or is there a slight problem with this announcement?

The BBC report that:

'Blood donation rules for sex workers and gay men are being relaxed in England and Scotland after improvements in the accuracy of testing procedures.

Men who have sex with men can now give blood three months after their last sexual activity instead of 12.

And sex workers, who were previously barred from donating, now can, subject to the same three-month rule.'
Is a sex-worker who hasn't had sex for three months still a sex-worker? Just a question.

Apparently:
'Experts said the move would give more people the opportunity to donate blood without affecting blood supply safety.'
Well that's nice for them.

'The Advisory Committee on the Safety of Blood, Tissues and Organs - which advises UK health departments - recommended the changes after concluding that new testing systems were accurate and donors were good at complying with the rules.
All blood that is donated in the UK undergoes a mandatory test for Hepatitis B and C, and HIV, plus a couple of other viruses.

Scientists agree that three months is a comfortably long window for a virus or infection to appear and be picked up in the blood.'
When do you expect the first cases of people who've had virus infected blood transfusions suing the government?

But so long as gay men and sex-workers are happy and the experts say it's safe that's fine.

Did a French court really give an Islamist who wanted to join ISIS in Syria a four hour window every day when he could do what he wanted?

'... it was revealed that one of the killers, 19-year-old Adel K., was being monitored by electronic tag after twice attempting to join fanatics in Syria.

His bail terms, however, allowed him to be unsupervised between 8.30am and 12.30pm. The attack happened between 9am and 11am'
More here in The Mail

If this is true then the French legal system is as ridiculous as ours. Questions need to be asked and terrorist suspects need to be treated as potentially dangerous 24 hours a day.

What has happened to this country?

'A man was stopped by police after leaving a Union flag in front of the floral tributes for murdered MP Jo Cox in the village where she was killed.

The Union flag has, for some, become increasingly toxic after being adopted by the far-right. It is a symbol of a number of nationalist organisations, including the British National Party.'

The union flag is the flag of this Country, it is the flag of the Country that Jo Cox was an MP for.
It is odd how any number of Islamist terrorists can kill and maim but the left will refuse to tar all Muslims with the same brush. However one alleged right wing extremist kills and the Union flag is toxic. Let's wind up the Union and subsume ourselves into the EUSSR.

I think that answers my question...

Do take a look through the Twitter conversation and see what you think.

My apologies but @truthradical RANDOMLY capitalises words, I think HE thinks it makes him LOOK clever and decisive...

It is odd how so many of these anti-Israel campaigners can't answer that simple question.

Tube trains 'targeted by anti-Israel poster campaign' per Jewish News

This story of the idiocy and hatred of BDS campaigners http://www.jewishnews.co.uk/tube-trains-targeted-by-anti-israel-poster-campaign/ has one line that really points out how delusional many of the BDS people are:
'Another asks why BBC reporting is biased in favour of Israel... '
Anyone who thinks the BBC's reporting is biased in favour of Israel has a severe problem with reality.

In Sweden, You Can Now Drive Without A Licence... As Long As You're An Immigrant

Sweden is beyond a joke...
'Newly arrived migrants in Sweden can now enjoy two and a half years or more driving without any sort of licence, putting themselves and others at risk, thanks to the judgement of a Swedish court.'

When an idiot shows his idiocy

Sometimes it's just so amusing when an idiot shows his idiocy and ignorance, especially when they think they've been so clever.

Take a look at this little Twitter exchange

It would take a heart of stone not to laugh!

Background Conference Call on the President's Address to the Nation | The White House

'ISIL has been I think a galvanizing threat around the Sunni partners in the region.  They view it as an existential threat to them.  Saudi Arabia has an extensive border with Syria.'

'Saudi Arabia has an extensive border with Syria.'

Really? Are you sure? I'm pretty sure Egypt, Jordan and Iraq border Saudi Arabia to the east and north. Arguably Israel over water. But not Syria. If the Barack Hussein Obama White House has this poor a grasp of the geography of the Middle East, is it any wonder that they're so clueless with regards to policy?

As an aside, if it had been a George W. Bush White House which had made this mistake or Sarah Palin's office then this would be being reported by the BBC and the Now Show would be lining up the satirical remarks, but as it's Barack Hussein Obama's White House, I think we can assume that there'll be no coverage at all.

More from the genius that is @The_Mitch92

I've been debating with @The_mitch92 on Twitter. The trouble he's not the brightest of individuals; he's a 9/11 troofer but more of that later.

He made a statement that he didn't trust any Israeli and then narrowed that down to any supporter of the Israeli government. The debate moved on a bit to UK politics, you can see the whole debate on Twitter, and then he posted this...

Priceless...

How many people were killed by Saddam Hussein's regime?

How many people were killed by Saddam Hussein's regime? This is a question that it is hard to answer, there are many answers none of which are 100% accurate (how could they be?) but there are ranges that are agreed upon.

Wikipedia reports that:
According to The New York Times, "he [Saddam] murdered as many as a million of his people, many with poison gas. He tortured, maimed and imprisoned countless more. His unprovoked invasion of Iran is estimated to have left another million people dead. His seizure of Kuwait threw the Middle East into crisis. More insidious, arguably, was the psychological damage he inflicted on his own land. Hussein created a nation of informants — friends on friends, circles within circles — making an entire population complicit in his rule". Other estimates as to the number of Iraqis killed by Saddam's regime vary from roughly a quarter to half a million, including 50,000 to 182,000 Kurds and 25,000 to 280,000 killed during the repression of the 1991 rebellion.Estimates for the number of dead in the Iran-Iraq war range upwards from 300,000.
About.com  reports 'Top 5 Crimes of Saddam Hussein', which include:
...it is estimated that up to 182,000 were killed during the Anfal campaign. Many people consider the Anfal campaign an attempt at genocide.

... As early as April 1987, the Iraqis used chemical weapons to remove Kurds from their villages in northern Iraq during the Anfal campaign. It is estimated that chemical weapons were used on approximately 40 Kurdish villages, with the largest of these attacks occurring on March 16, 1988 against the Kurdish town of Halabja.

Beginning in the morning on March 16, 1988 and continuing all night, the Iraqis rained down volley after volley of bombs filled with a deadly mixture of mustard gas and nerve agents on Halabja. Immediate effects of the chemicals included blindness, vomiting, blisters, convulsions, and asphyxiation. Approximately 5,000 women, men, and children died within days of the attacks. Long-term effects included permanent blindness, cancer, and birth defects. An estimated 10,000 lived, but live daily with the disfigurement and sicknesses from the chemical weapons.

...
At the end of the Persian Gulf War in 1991, southern Shiites and northern Kurds rebelled against Hussein's regime. In retaliation, Iraq brutally suppressed the uprising, killing thousands of Shiites in southern Iraq.

As supposed punishment for supporting the Shiite rebellion in 1991, Saddam Hussein's regime killed thousands of Marsh Arabs, bulldozed their villages, and systematically ruined their way of life.

Stanford University  reports:
Along with other human rights organizations, The Documental Centre for Human Rights in Iraq has compiled documentation on over 600,000 civilian executions in Iraq. Human Rights Watch reports that in one operation alone, the Anfal, Saddam killed 100,000 Kurdish Iraqis. Another 500,000 are estimated to have died in Saddam's needless war with Iran. Coldly taken as a daily average for the 24 years of Saddam's reign, these numbers give us a horrifying picture of between 70 and 125 civilian deaths per day for every one of Saddam's 8,000-odd days in power"

The Iraq Foundation  reports:
DOING the arithmetic is an imprecise venture. The largest number of deaths attributable to Mr. Hussein's regime resulted from the war between Iraq and Iran between 1980 and 1988, which was launched by Mr. Hussein. Iraq says its own toll was 500,000, and Iran's reckoning ranges upward of 300,000. Then there are the casualties in the wake of Iraq's 1990 occupation of Kuwait. Iraq's official toll from American bombing in that war is 100,000 — surely a gross exaggeration — but nobody contests that thousands of Iraqi soldiers and civilians were killed in the American campaign to oust Mr. Hussein's forces from Kuwait. In addition, 1,000 Kuwaitis died during the fighting and occupation in their country.

Casualties from Iraq's gulag are harder to estimate. Accounts collected by Western human rights groups from Iraqi émigrés and defectors have suggested that the number of those who have "disappeared" into the hands of the secret police, never to be heard from again, could be 200,000. As long as Mr. Hussein remains in power, figures like these will be uncheckable, but the huge toll is palpable nonetheless.

Scaruffi has a handy table listing The worst genocides of the 20th and 21st Centuries:
Saddam Hussein appears at number 13 on the list after Mao's Communist regime in China (49-78 million), Hitler's Nazi Germany (12 million), Leopold II massacre in The Belgium Congo (8 million), Stalin's Communist regime in Russia 9& million), Japanese Emperor Tojo's World War 2 massacres (5 million), The Ottoman Empire's massacres of Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks (2 million), Pol Pot's Cambodian regime (1.7 million), Kil Il Sung's North Korean regime's purges and concentration camps (1.6 million), Menghistu's Ethiopian regime (1.5 million), The Biafran killings (1 million), Leonid Brezhnev's Soviet regime's massacres in Afghanistan (900,000) and the Rwandan genocide of the 1990s (800, 000. The figure attributed to Saddam Hussein is 600,000.

So we have, excluding those victims of  war, estimates of between 250,000 and 600,000 people killed by Saddam Hussein's regime. We have an agreed range. Well not totally agreed because @The_Mitch92 claims that only 5,000 were killed. Of course @The_Mitch92 has an agenda, he's claimed that

Correcting a liar or a fool

I have been engaged in a Twitter debate with another anti-Israel type whose grasp on reality is poor. This one goes by the handle @The_Mitch92 and has tweeted that both 9/11 and 7/7 were false flag operations, but more of that later. @The_Mitch92 sees no place for a Jewish state, except maybe in Antarctica, says that Jews have no historical connection with the land of Israel and tries to blame Israel and America for all the troubles of the world.

Here's one example of @The_Mitch92's output and my responses...

@The_Mitch92's response was not to try and justify his initial claim but to ask...

I've told him to look at Ask.com for a start but the Iraqi figures are pretty well accepted and on many sites, as is the less than 5,000 Palestinian deaths figure.

I'd like to see @The_Mitch92 accept that his initial claim was ridiculous but somehow I don't think he's man enough to admit that he was guilty of lying with his initial claim. I'd also quite like to see @The_Mitch92 try and provide figures to backup his claim but that might be tricky...

An idiot tweets, this time it's @_fuck_israel_

I have been having an interminable Twitter conversation with a deeply unpleasant individual whose Twitter handle is @_fuck_israel_ . His level of discourse is pretty low, mostly restricted to telling me how much he loves (indeed worships Hitler), how Israel should be destroyed and how Islam is much better than Israel (apparently it's all down to numbers of followers of a religion).

I will at some point document the many rantings of this Algerian who claims to be a lawyer and to have a Jewish Swedish girlfriend who converted to Islam (hmmm) but for the time being here's just one of his laughable Tweets:

So @_fuck_israel_ claims that Hamas's fight for freedom has no relationship with Islam and that those who claim otherwise are stupid morons.

Here's the beginning of Hamas's Charter

The Charter of Allah: The Platform of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas)

“In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate You are the best community that has been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency; and ye believe in Allah. And if the People of the Scripture had believed, it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-doers. They will not harm you save a trifling hurt, and if they fight against you they will turn and flee. And afterward they will not be helped. Ignominy shall be their portion wheresoever they are found save [where they grasp] a rope from Allah and a rope from man. They have incurred anger from their Lord, and wretchedness is laid upon them. That is because they used to disbelieve the revelations of Allah, and slew the Prophets wrongfully. That is because they were rebellious and used to transgress.” Surat Al-Imran (III), verses 109-111 Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it as it had eliminated its predecessors. The Islamic World is burning. It is incumbent upon each one of us to pour some water, little as it may be, with a view of extinguishing as much of the fire as he can, without awaiting action by the others.
 No relationship with Islam?

Here's the eight objectives of Hamas, note the complete absence of references to Islam, Muslims and Allah:

Part I - Knowing the Movement

Article One: The Ideological Aspects
The Islamic Resistance Movement draws its guidelines from Islam; derives from it its thinking, interpretations and views about existence, life and humanity; refers back to it for its conduct; and is inspired by it in whatever step it takes.

Article Two: The Link between Hamas and the Association of Muslim Brothers
The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the wings of the Muslim Brothers in Palestine. The Muslim Brotherhood Movement is a world organization, the largest Islamic Movement in the modern era. It is characterized by a profound understanding, by precise notions and by a complete comprehensiveness of all concepts of Islam in all domains of life: views and beliefs, politics and economics, education and society, jurisprudence and rule, indoctrination and teaching, the arts and publications, the hidden and the evident, and all the other domains of life.

Article Three: Structure and Essence
The basic structure of the Islamic Resistance Movement consists of Muslims who are devoted to Allah and worship Him verily [as it is written]: “I have created Man and Devil for the purpose of their worship” [of Allah]. Those Muslims are cognizant of their duty towards themselves, their families and country and they have been relying on Allah for all that. They have raised the banner of Jihad in the face of the oppressors in order to extricate the country and the people from the [oppressors’] desecration, filth and evil.

Article Four
The Movement welcomes all Muslims who share its beliefs and thinking, commit themselves to its course of action, keep its secrets and aspire to join its ranks in order to carry out their duty. Allah will reward them.

Article Five: Dimensions of Time and Space of the Hamas
As the Movement adopts Islam as its way of life, its time dimension extends back as far as the birth of the Islamic Message and of the Righteous Ancestor. Its ultimate goal is Islam, the Prophet its model, the Qur’an its Constitution. Its special dimension extends wherever on earth there are Muslims, who adopt Islam as their way of life; thus, it penetrates to the deepest reaches of the land and to the highest spheres of Heavens.

Article Six: Peculiarity and Independence
The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinct Palestinian Movement which owes its loyalty to Allah, derives from Islam its way of life and strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine. Only under the shadow of Islam could the members of all regions coexist in safety and security for their lives, properties and rights. In the absence of Islam, conflict arises, oppression reigns, corruption is rampant and struggles and wars prevail. Allah had inspired the Muslim poet, Muhammad Iqbal, when he said:
When the Faith wanes, there is no security
There is no this-worldliness for those who have no faith
Those who wish to live their life without religion
Have made annihilation the equivalent of life.

Article Seven: The Universality of Hamas
By virtue of the distribution of Muslims, who pursue the cause of the Hamas, all over the globe, and strive for its victory, for the reinforcement of its positions and for the encouragement of its Jihad, the Movement is a universal one. It is apt to be that due to the clarity of its thinking, the nobility of its purpose and the loftiness of its objectives.
It is in this light that the Movement has to be regarded, evaluated and acknowledged. Whoever denigrates its worth, or avoids supporting it, or is so blind as to dismiss its role, is challenging Fate itself. Whoever closes his eyes from seeing the facts, whether intentionally or not, will wake up to find himself overtaken by events, and will find no excuses to justify his position. Priority is reserved to the early comers. Oppressing those who are closest to you, is more of an agony to the soul than the impact of an Indian sword. “And unto thee have we revealed the Scripture with the truth, confirming whatever scripture was before it, and a watcher over it. So judge between them by that which Allah hath revealed, and follow not their desires away from the truth which has come unto thee. For each we have appointed a divine law and a traced-out way. Had Allah willed, He could have made you one community. But that He may try you by that which he has given you [He has made you as you are]. So vie with one another in good works. Unto Allah, you will all return. He will then inform you of that wherein you differ.” Hamas is one of the links in the Chain of Jihad in the confrontation with the Zionist invasion. It links up with the setting out of the Martyr Izz a-din al-Qassam and his brothers in the Muslim Brotherhood who fought the Holy War in 1936; it further relates to another link of the Palestinian Jihad and the Jihad and efforts of the Muslim Brothers during the 1948 War, and to the Jihad operations of the Muslim Brothers in 1968 and thereafter. But even if the links have become distant from each other, and even if the obstacles erected by those who revolve in the Zionist orbit, aiming at obstructing the road before the Jihad fighters, have rendered the pursuance of Jihad impossible; nevertheless, the Hamas has been looking forward to implement Allah’s promise whatever time it might take. The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him! This will not apply to the Gharqad, which is a Jewish tree (cited by Bukhari and Muslim).

Article Eight: The Slogan of the Hamas
Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur’an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.
So let's compare @_fuck_israel_ 'Hamas fight for freedom no relation with Islam' with Hamas's Article Eight (The slogan of Hamas) 'Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur’an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.'

Maybe @_fuck_israel_ has a syntax problem and his 'stupid moron' comment wasn't aimed at @SoldierFrosty and/or @jimborats but at himself.

@wotist4 - yes there's more

Following on from this post from yesterday and this post from earlier today, I thought I'd bring you up to date.
Don't worry, @wotsit4 hasn't retracted his incredibly stupid/naive claim that without Zionists there would be no Middle East problem. Maybe he's still to find the time to research Sunni and Shia conflict...

This post was prompted by @wotsit4's attempt to evade addressing the above by calling me a 'TROLL'. The mind of the lefty is a predictable thing; if they find themselves out-argued and incapable of reasoning their way out of a corner they resort to name-calling: 'RACIST' they cry, 'FASCIST' they wail and on the internet they have the chance to bleat 'TROLL'. It's almost comical the predictability of it all.

Did you see that last post of his? I'm not sure what he thinks is a threat nor which authorities he thinks would be interested in his bleating but maybe in his head it's all part of the giant Zionist conspiracy to run the world.

@wotsit4 the gift that keeps on giving

Following on from this blogpost of yesterday I thought you might like to see some more tweets from @wotsit4

It's odd how @wotsit4 is happy to call attention to the supposed size of the 'Jewish lobby' in the USA but has 'no interest in any religion' when he's asked a question about Muslim Brotherhood linked members of Barack Hussein Obama's administration.

It seems that only the supposed power of Jews concerns him.

The most ignorant or deliberately offensive tweet ever? It's @Wotsit4

 wotsit4 (@wotsit4) tweeted at 0:31 PM on Mon, Sep 30, 2013:
@notasheepagoat were it not for zionists there'd be no Middle East problem
(https://twitter.com/wotsit4/status/384641697738932224)

So is @wotsit4 someone with no knowledge of the thousand plus years of enmity between Shia and Sunni, the various and many different types of sectarian fighting amongst Muslims in the Middle East or indeed any cognisance of the realities of Middle East affairs, or is @wotsit4 someone with a real problem with Israel and the desire to blame the Jews for everything.

Either way not my sort of person.

You won't be surprised to learn that I have yet to receive a reply from @wotsit4 to my question, maybe he's ashamed of his ignorance or embarrassed for having his prejudices uncovered.

@BigDunc123 update

As an update to this post of yesterday 'Big' Dunc has been at it again...

Looks like 'Big' Dunc might have been reading the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and more worryingly believing it.

Monday, 16 September 2013

Another Tweeter who has no knowledge of geography this time its @BigDunc123

It's @BigDunc123 this time for showing his ignorance yesterday and today...

No reply as yet from 'Big Dunc'...

Reminds me of my battle with the similarly ill-educated @kjfella1 earlier this year.

By the way, it was I that managed to get the BBC to change their favourite map of Gaza so it showed Egypt as well as Israel, read the story here.

Here's the BBC map that might explain the idiotic statements of some twitterers

And here's the fixed one that shows the Gaza Egypt border
Maybe @BigDunc123 should peruse it before calling my comments 'moronic'.
