The BBC take some extreme parties more seriously than others

I see that the BBC are reporting quite seriously that:
'Respect have set out their conditions for supporting a Labour government in a hung Parliament.

As they launched their manifesto the party said they would not back a Tory government "under any circumstances".

But they would support Labour if troops were withdrawn from Afghanistan, more council houses were built, there was electoral reform and an end to cuts.

The anti-war party is hoping to gain up to three MPs on 6 May, which could leave it holding the balance of power.'
I wonder if the BBC would report the BNP's demands as equably? Somehow I think not.

Yvonne Ridley news

"High-profile Muslim convert Yvonne Ridley was driven out of her presenter job on an Islamic TV station by "sexist" male bosses, a tribunal has heard.

The former Fleet Street and Al-Jazeera reporter claimed a campaign of bullying and smears from Islam Channel chiefs was more stressful than when she was kidnapped by murderous Taliban fanatics in Afghanistan."
Read the rest here and try not to snigger.

Scum

The mail reports that:
"Scrap metal thieves have stooped to a new low by stealing bronze plaques from one of the country's biggest war memorials.

The four metal commemorations displayed 1,000 names of sailors who lost their lives while serving in the Royal Navy during both world wars.

They were taken during a night raid at the naval memorial in Plymouth Hoe, Devon, hours after a Veterans' Day Service on Sunday.

Police have described the crime as an 'unforgivable desecration' and blame the demand for scrap metal that has seen an increase in thefts of cars, drain covers and train tracks.

Staff from the War Graves Commission are to remove three more plaques to prevent another theft.

The 3ft sq memorials weigh 90lbs and will cost £2,000 each to replace.

However, they are only expected to make £200 on the second-hand market."

I expect if caught the thieving scum will have a sob story but I don't care, there is such a thing as respect and they showed none.

Our glorious leader and his adoring public

Gordon Brown and Angela Merkel went to the England v Germany football friendly at Wembley the other week. I didn't watch the match as I find watching England play football in a friendly too depressing for words. I did hear some cheering news of an off the ball incident. The stadium announcer announced the presence of our and the Germans' glorious leaders - soon to be replaced by an EU uber leader... and the crowd reacted in an appropriate fashion -
