Israel steps up Jerusalem security after Palestinian clashes per BBC News

I am in a slight state of shock, maybe my blog posts, tweets and complaints to the BBC have had an effect. Within this BBC report is this:
'The compound - known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims as al-Haram al-Sharif - is the holiest site in Judaism, and contains the al-Aqsa Mosque - the third holiest site in Islam.'
Finally the BBC recognise the importance of the Temple Mount to Judaism. Now of only they'd report that the reason both religions have holy sites in the same place is because the Muslims built their mosque on top of the Jewish Temple then we'd really be getting somewhere.

The one hundred and ninety second weekly "No shit, Sherlock" award

The BBC have finally worked something out, here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-28198622

'Over the past week the hashtag #GazaUnderAttack has been used hundreds of thousands of times, often to distribute pictures claiming to show the effects the airstrikes.
Some of the images are of the current situation in Gaza, but a #BBCtrending analysis has found that some date as far back as 2009 and others are from conflicts in Syria and Iraq.'
The Palestinians lying about images they can blame on Israel? No shit, Sherlock

A bizarre 7pm news on BBC Radio 4

The usually most politically correct and pro left wing 7pm BBC Radio 4 news bulletin today was rather odd. First the report on Ed Miliband's conference speech concentrated on the fuel price proposal but had someone from Centrica as the only comment. Second the report on the Nairobi terrorist attack referred to the perpetrators as 'terrorists', not 'militants'.

Most peculiar, has someone with some sense infiltrated the BBC newsroom?

Why is the UK deficit so large?

Guido Fawkes reports that:
'Ed Miliband told the Times this morning that: “Labour is not to blame for Britain’s debt mountain and accuses David Cameron of peddling a “great deceit” about the previous Government’s record to pursue a damaging programme of cuts.”

He claims:
“What is this deceit? It is that the deficit was caused by chronic overspending rather than a global financial crisis that resulted in recession and a calamitous collapse in tax revenues.”

Last time he made such absurd claims the Spectator provided Red Ed with this (see top of this article) handy graph. Perhaps he could explain then why the last government was spending more than it was bringing in from 2002?'

If you'd like to hear Ed Miliband making the same points on the Jeremy Vine show and being taken apart by Jeremy Vine then you can here for the next 7 days. It is nice to hear a BBC presenter actually tackle a Labour politician about their economic policy past, present and future.
