Daniel Winspear smashed the defenceless creature in a sickening attack at a house party.
The 18-year-old was found in the conservatory still holding the bat, by the dismembered tortoise after party-goers heard noises in the early hours.
Tests proved the pet did not die straight away. "
Words fail me and the news that
"Winspear was warned he could face jail after admitting to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal when he appeared before Hartlepool Magistrates' Court."does not inspire me with confidence. If he goes to jail it will be for only a very short time and he will no doubt be provided with a television, PS3, etc. etc. etc.
What do you think his punishment should be, should he be found guilty?

I think they should let a drunken tortoise smash him up with a baseball bat. It would save the taxpayer a fair few...
Suitable punishment? Having some of his most prized possessions smashed to bits with a bat, especially irreplaceable items.
