Is The Guardian serious

I missed this on Monday but it seems that The Guardian's Comment Is Free had a piece by Gerry Adams pontificating about the Wikileaks Afghanistan story and why we shouldn't be surprised by the British army killing civilians in Afghanistan, after all they had done it for years in Northern Ireland.

Gerry Adams being given a platform to fulminate on the killing of civilians, I would say that The Guardian was being ironic but somehow I doubt that they were.

As CIF commenter 'kieranbear' said:
'By all means let's have the truth about the conduct of the British security forces during the NI Troubles, but it should be a two way street. Let those who always characterized themselves a national army fighting a war against British occupation of their country be subjected to the same level of scrutiny, and be similarly forthcoming about the atrocities for which they were responsible.'
